What will your responsibilities be?
- Leads API development activities and ensures quality through:
- Functional requirement reviews and signoff
- Impact analysis documentation
- Solution architecture options and cost analysis preparation
- Technical design reviews and signoff
- Unit test plan reviews and signoff
- Acts as SME for API platforms and interfaces with external applications, contributing to:
- API development design and deliverables
- Production support analysis for critical and complex issues
- Collaborates with application teams to provide insights on functional and technical design activities. Drives high-quality specifications and requirements.
- Leads proof of concept (POC) initiatives and technical roadmap activities, ensuring new developments align with platform strategy.
- Aligns API development efforts with Enterprise Architecture (EA) direction through close collaboration.
- Prepares and presents API solution proposals with multiple implementation options to IT Governance and Strategy teams when requirements involve:
- Change in System Architecture
- Change in API based integrations to external/internal and cloud-based applications
- Keeps current with API management, gateway technologies, APIGEE, and integration best practices.
- Executes POCs, documents outcomes, and drives implementation and standardization within API integration.
- Looks for cost saving / quality improvement opportunities
- Provides multiple solutions to business problems, analyzes each option, highlights pros and cons, and recommends the best approach.
- Presents the potential solutions / enhancements to both technical and nontechnical audiences
Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees?
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and able to communicate complex scenarios with both technical and nontechnical audiences
- Able to lead initiatives from idea to production implementation
- Able to understand and digest complex. multi-tier, integrated software systems
- Able to think critically under pressure
- Actively listens to customer and application teams, identifies the problem, and implements a solution
- Able to decompose complex systems to facilitate communication, trouble shooting, and impact analysis
- Demonstrate passion for process standardization and IT excellence
- 2 to 4 years of API /Proxy design, development, management and microservices experience
- 1 to 3 years of Java, Java script and Python
- 1 to 3 years of experience with Azure/AWS, Kubernetes, Logic apps, Cloud Monitoring tools
- Eager to learn and conduct proof of concepts with new technologies
