As a Software Development Engineer at Micron you will configure, develop, maintain and support Micron and third-party applications. You will build and analyze software specifications, and research, design, document, modify, and support software throughout the development life cycle.

The team is responsible for the development and support of framework and interface software for automating the integration of external equipment used in the Fabs with Micron’s internal systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with area experts and automation developers to automate tools and implement host improvements in a timely manner

  • Provide automation software support and integration to the software development teams to define requirements for enhancements

  • Provide testing of manufacturing applications for ECR and DAW software releases

  • Demonstrate detailed knowledge of the MES systems, Framework, MESC, Batch Stage Controller, ToolView, Sigma, associated data, and support tools through day-to-day problem-solving efforts

  • Provide 24x7 oncall/customer concern support for software issues

  • Ensures Product Quality by demonstrating awareness of changes to automation systems and proactively looking for dependencies on these systems to prevent downtime and product risk 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

  • 3 plus years’ experience working in software development

  • Experience with scripting languages, application programming interfaces, Unix like operating systems, and version control systems

  • Experience with software testing tools and DevOps tools such as Azure

  • Experience with continuous monitoring tools like Splunk 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of ITIL Incident, Release, Change, and Problem Management practices

  • Knowledge of software engineering principles and methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements
