Primary Purpose:
Responsible for the design and development of ARUP software that is scalable, robust, interoperable, secure and efficient. Develops applications, services, and other coding objects required to implement architectural standards. Collaborates with programmers and other architects by playing a pivotal role in making high-level design choices and directing architectural and technical standards, including architectural frameworks, software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Spends 50% of time on architectural duties and 50% of time on development duties.

Essential Functions:
Provide architectural guidance to evaluate, identify, and develop software solutions to meet business needs.
Collaborate with other stakeholders to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software solutions.
Prepare and document detailed software specifications and architectural designs.
Ensure adherence to ARUP’s established architectural and technical standards for software development projects from conception to deployment.
Actively participate with ARUP’s software architecture committees to understand and help establish architectural standards.
Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility, etc.
Continuously research and remain knowledgeable of modern technologies and tools.

Physical and Other Requirements:
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.
PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as making general observations of depth and distance.
Continuing Education: Continual assessment of current literature and best practices.
Qualifications Education Required High School Diploma or Equivalent or better. Preferred Associates Degree or better. Bachelor's Degree or better. Skills Required
