The IT Site Support Technician serves as the primary IT liaison for a designated manufacturing facility or job site, ensuring the seamless operation of all technological systems, including end-user devices, local and wireless network infrastructure, on-site servers, printing solutions, and manufacturing-specific hardware and software. This role is critical to minimizing downtime and maximizing production efficiency. The technician will provide comprehensive technical support, collaborate with site leadership, and evaluate IT processes to drive continuous improvement and align with business goals.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience. CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications are advantageous.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in an IT support role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong technical proficiency in IT systems and infrastructure.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Travel: Up to 10%
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Support and Maintenance
- Provide first-line support for hardware, software, and network-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing or job site operations.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure, including workstations, servers, printers, and network devices.
- Monitor system performance and implement proactive measures—such as routine system audits, applying software updates, hardware diagnostics, and preemptive configuration adjustments—to prevent potential issues.
- Build dashboards that provide a single pane of glass of the demand and site health.
Collaboration with Site Leadership
- Act as the primary IT liaison for site leadership, participating in regular meetings to understand operational needs and challenges.
- Advocate for technological initiatives that enhance productivity and efficiency within the facility.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline IT processes related to production support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements and measure their impact on performance.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, configurations, and support activities using the organization's asset management system, such as ServiceNow, to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures and user guides as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
