The Mission
Leidos is seeking an experienced IT Site Lead to join our Digital Modernization Group in support of the AFNCR ITS mission at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. This position supports high-visibility national defense operations and key stakeholders, including Air Force District of Washington and Headquarters Air Force. The selected candidate will play a critical role in leading IT operations, project execution, and technical service delivery within a dynamic, mission-critical environment supporting the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, and alternate locations throughout the National Capital Region (NCR).
Primary Tasks:
- Deliver exceptional IT services to more than 3,000 military, civilian, and contractor customers at JBAB.
- Lead a mid-sized team of Leidos and partner personnel supporting more than 8,000 assets and approximately $5M in project work.
- Oversee day-to-day operations and future planning activities, including Field Services, desktop support, help desk operations, voice services, routine requirements, technical refresh, mobile/personal wireless support, and customer service delivery.
- Direct Site Field Operations and Site Project Managers to ensure all work is properly prioritized, coordinated, documented, and deconflicted to meet program requirements and performance metrics.
- Represent the site during daily operations sync meetings and weekly leadership updates.
- Ensure contractual service level agreements (SLAs), response times, ticket closure timelines, and other performance metrics are consistently met or exceeded.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate team members operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
- Develop weekly executive summaries highlighting accomplishments, risks, and performance trends for 794th Communications Squadron leadership.
- Manage a $2M+ budget and provide recommendations related to hiring, promotions, performance management, recognition, and staffing actions.
- Continuously assess workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Plan and execute annual lifecycle and compliance initiatives, including the refresh of approximately 400 workstations annually.
- Conduct daily internal synchronization meetings to align technicians and team leads on priorities, workload, and emerging issues.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Strong knowledge of desktop support, help desk operations, and IT service management principles.
- Demonstrated experience leading IT support teams.
- Experience supporting IT operations within a DoD environment.
- Must obtain DoD 8140-compliant certification within 90 days of start date.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to work primarily on-site at JBAB.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience leading teams, programs, or technical operations.
- Familiarity with JBAB, the 11th Wing, and Department of the Air Force headquarters staff.
- Experience coordinating with DISA J6.
- Experience with BMC Remedy and/or ServiceNow
