The Opportunity
As the Senior IT Specialist, you will work in our Abbott GmbH, Wiesbaden - Delkenheim location.
Primary Objective of Position
The Senior Specialist IT manages the related delivery activities for local systems. For non-local systems, you will interact with business units and IT (including Plan/Build/Run/Country Manager/Business Relationship Manager) to successfully deliver Abbott solutions and ensure value is achieved as anticipated from the outsourced relationships.
What You Will Do
- Plays a key role in decision making, planning, and executing IT projects delivering application.
- Defining and the ultimate delivery of Local IT application.
- Leverage key strengths from all project teams, Abbott and provider alike.
- Identify and coordinate program level risks and issues.
- Accountable for end-to-end support.
- Monitors service level infractions.
- Coordinates with Business Solutions and Service (BSS) Run on support activities and critical incident communications.
- Acts as coordinator of business and BTS IT at the site, using good communication and teamwork to ensure collaboration among all IT teams for the good of the affiliate.
- Monitors IT process compliance with corporate, divisional and local policies and procedures.
- Supports and enforces audit compliant policies and standards.
- Functions as a single point of escalation for all questions, activities and issues related to local project delivery requests aligned to specific business functional domains.
- Works in conjunction with Project Management Office to ensure proper communication with clients and suppliers regarding project disposition.
- Reviews service provider recovery and permanent fix plans, including root cause analysis and actions as operational problems occur.
- Maintains contacts for day-to-day communications between local IT/ service provider and the business.
- For non-local systems identified as all applications that are currently supported by the primary suppliers, collaborates with Business Solutions and Service Run to ensure effective system operations.
Qualifications
- Degree in IT and/or complimentary business degree.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in IT, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- Analysis, correction and creation of new application programs.
- At least 2-4 years of experience in programming application software.
- Knowledge of SQL and AS400 would be an advantage but are not a must.
- Ability to work directly with the business to understand business priorities and turn into IT requirements.
- Problem determination (experience in root cause analysis) and problem resolution skills.
- Project management experience.
- Strong collaboration and partnering skills.
- Process skills; an understanding of process costs, ability to work with Service Provider to ensure effective operations and agreed upon service levels.
- Demonstrated ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, decide and influence appropriate courses of action.
- Experience of indirect management.
- Languages: German and English.
