About the role:
The Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure has global responsibility for the leadership and strategic direction of the company's core Cloud-first IT infrastructure, security and tooling, including Cloud, Systems Administration, Networking, and Helpdesk functions. This role guides strategic decision-making in IT policy and purchasing; ensures system reliability, performance, security, and scalability; and oversees all IT operations personnel. The ideal Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure candidate will be a hands-on technology leader and report directly to the Director of Technology.
Essential Job Functions:
• Lead and manage the Cloud, Systems, Networking, and Helpdesk teams across North and South America, ensuring cohesive and efficient operations that are aligned with business needs and objectives.
• Develop and implement the strategic roadmap for IT policy, infrastructure maintenance, and purchasing decisions following best practices such as ITIL
• Provide expert oversight and technical direction for enterprise platforms, ensuring maintenance and optimization of tools and services such as Jamf, SentinelOne, Google Workspace, IAP, VMware, and Auvik.
• Own and drive best in class disaster recovery, business continuity, data protection, backup and information security strategies that support our 24/7 enterprise.
• Partner closely with Security Operations Center (SOC) leadership and staff to deliver a comprehensive physical + information security strategy that is aligned with business customer needs, business objectives and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to plan and execute major infrastructure projects, upgrades, and migrations with minimal disruption to internal and external customers.
• Mentor, train and develop IT personnel, setting clear performance goals, objectives and growth plans.
• Act as the principal liaison for vendor negotiations concerning license renewals and hardware refreshes, ensuring the optimization of expenditures across enterprise platforms and hardware.
• Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc reporting on the systems’ and teams’ KPIs and other metrics to technology leadership and other key stakeholders.
• Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to both operational security staff and senior executive leadership.
• Manage the departmental budget for infrastructure and operational expenditures.
• Perform other related duties as required.
QualificationsAs a candidate you must have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• 10+ years of IT experience, with at least 3 years in a people leadership role overseeing technology operations teams.
• Demonstrated experience deploying and administering enterprise SaaS platforms and tools (Okta, Ping, Jamf, GSuite, SentinelOne, VMware, etc.).
• Strong working knowledge of Windows Server or Linux operating systems administration.
• 3+ years working Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with Auvik or similar network monitoring and management platforms.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN, and firewall administration.
• Firm grasp of zero trust networking concepts and implementations
• Proven track record with endpoint protection, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and identity and access management (IAM) best practices.
• Previous experience operating within high-availability environments with 24/7 uptime requirements.
• Industry certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft MCSE, CompTIA Server+, AWS Solutions Architect, Red Hat RHCE, Okta Certified Administrator, Jamf Certified Tech).
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Experience with automation tooling and platforms such as Make, n8n, Zapier, etc. is a plus
• Enterprise experience deploying and governing AI tools is a plus
• Must be a dependable team player with business maturity and enthusiasm, with the ability to deliver a high level of customer service.
