The Role

Job Summary:

The IT Senior Director, Data & Analytics and Integration is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the company’s data, analytics and integration strategy.  This position will oversee the development, governance, and optimization of enterprise data platforms, analytics solutions and system integration technologies to drive business insights, efficiency and innovation.  They communicate decisions, priorities and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding service requests, projects and initiatives.  In collaboration with the VPs of IT, CIO and business partners, develop long-term systems and strategic growth plans. They also develop and execute a vision and strategy aligned with the company’s business goals and manage a respective portfolio of IT and business process work based on discipline.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Builds and fosters business partnerships and maintains ongoing business relationships. Serves as the point of contact for business area relationships.
  • Develop and implement an enterprise-wide data and analytics strategy aligned with business objectives
  • Translates high-level strategy and product direction into technology solutions.
  • Establishes alignment between business objectives, IT objectives, financials, & organization. 
  • Ensures business objectives and operating model are understood and factored into IT strategy.
  • Drives continuous improvement in operational excellence.
  • Defines key strategies for the IT delivery model of an organization.
  • Works with financial leadership on annual IT budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies.
  • Maintain high cybersecurity awareness and ensure compliance with industry regulations, data privacy and security standards.
  • Manage relationships with key technology vendors, partners and consultants.
  • Negotiate contracts and oversee IT procurement.
  • Develop and implement data analytics strategies to support business objectives.
  • Oversee the integration of data from various sources to ensure comprehensive and accurate analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address data and integration needs.
  • Drive the adoption of advanced analytics, AI/ML, and business intelligence tools to enable data-driven decision making.
  • Define best practices and architectural standards for system integrations, ensuring scalability, security and performance
  • Recruit, select, coach, mentor, and develop team leadership, engineering, and support staff.
  • Champions a culture of continuous learning, collaboration and excellence.
  • Conducts performance and development reviews per HR guidelines. Takes corrective actions, including Performance Improvement Plans and terminations, when necessary.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing to meet department needs.
  • Provide continuous coaching and developmental opportunities for team members.
  • Drive succession planning and create opportunities for employee and leadership growth.
  • May require travel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Organizational Impact:

  • Head of a sub-function of a division and responsible for all operations in that sub-function. 
  • Establishes and implements tactical and operational plans, with significant impact on the achievement of division and/or area results.
  • Focus is on mid-term strategies (e.g., 3 years or less) to achieve business results, which may require substantial development of new processes, standards or operational plans to achieve strategies.
  • Job has budget responsibilities for the area managed.

Leadership & Talent Management: 

  • Manages a sub-function of a division, which includes multiple teams led by Directors and Managers.
  • Responsible for developing mid to long-term plans on how to optimize his/her organization and the talent required to execute strategies for the sub-function.
  • Typically has substantial latitude for hiring, firing, promotion and reward authority within own operational area, in accordance with organizational guidelines.

Knowledge & Experience: 

  • Requires advanced business knowledge, general management and leadership capability to lead business or functional teams.
  • Typically has broader practical experience across multiple professional disciplines within the organization, combining theory, past practical experience and the organization’s business practices.
  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 plus year’s prior relevant experience.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.
  • Experience with budget management and strategic planning.
