IT Security Officer

IT Security Officers (ITSOs) are responsible for overseeing information security for a specific IT sector. This position is tied to the Personal and Business Services segment of the property and casualty insurance sector. ITSOs have a direct influence on IT at their division. They are entrusted with a variety of responsibilities including risk analysis, reviewing action plans, contextualizing vulnerabilities, producing information security executive dashboards and monitoring strategic sector initiatives. They exert a tactical and strategic influence over the day-to-day operations of various sectors and their future investments in information security. At Desjardins, ITSOs are supported by a range of technical IT security experts who use a matrix approach to improve the ITSOs’ workflows as needed. More specifically, you will be required to:

• Work in close collaboration with the chief security officer’s representatives, that is to say, business security officers (BSOs).
• Serve as a sectoral expert for certain cross-sector initiatives to help improve the way IT teams are managed.
• Act as a representative of the Desjardins Group Security Office to influence critical suppliers with their information security service delivery.
• Serve as a sectoral expert for large-scale projects with a high level of complexity, including major projects and business acquisitions.
• As a sectoral expert, proactively influence the IT teams that report to you.
• Closely monitor operational activities in information security and track progress on action plans.

What you bring to the table

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field
• A minimum of eight years of relevant experience in information security and/or the general tech sector
• Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
• Recognized security certifications including CISSP, CISA, CISM, CAMS or any other relevant certification
• Experience managing information security risk and managing vulnerabilities
• Experience in security architecture
• Experience in executive communication and reporting
• Advanced oral and written communication skills in French
• Intermediate advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
• Mastery of the strategic and pragmatic aspects of implementing information security requirements
