Target Start Date: June 2nd, 2025

Hybrid Schedule: 3 days in office / 2 days at home weekly 


Job Summary 

There’s an exciting opportunity for you to join PatientPoint as an IT Security Analyst Intern. In this 10-week specialized program, you will engage in IT security across all PatientPoint offices. This program will give you broad IT knowledge across multiple technology disciplines, the security vulnerabilities associated with each technology area/discipline, and best practices to detect and prevent threats to PatientPoint. 

The role requires an understanding of threat detection and prevention systems, response plans, and vulnerability testing on an ongoing basis. You will work with all IT SMEs to enhance products and systems to ensure IT security threat prevention is considered in all aspects of IT operations, development, and support. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Engineer, implement, and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks, and information. 
  • Identify and define system security requirements. 
  • Design system security architecture and develop detailed security designs. 
  • Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols. 
  • Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices. 
  • Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks. 
  • Ensure the company is informed as quickly as possible about security incidents. 
  • Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes, and propositions for further system security enhancement. 
  • Stay abreast of security trends, threats, and prevention technologies and practices. 
  • Support the Security team in escalations from the Security Operations Center. 

What We Need 

  • Currently in school working towards a degree in Cyber Security, IT Security, Networking Security, Technology Management, or Computer Science
  • Must currently possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. 
  • Capable of presenting technical ideas and concepts in business-friendly language. 
  • Willingness to learn new technologies. 
  • Ability to thrive in an environment that requires frequent attention shifts from one task/project to the next. 

Desired Qualifications 

  • Familiarity with ISO 27K, NIST, CIS, ITIL, or similar regulatory and contractual requirements. 
  • Digital forensics. 
  • Incident response. 
  • Security controls gap analysis. 
  • At least one programming/scripting language. 
  • Threat hunting. 
  • Enterprise privileged access management (PAM). 
  • Vulnerability scanning and remediation management. 
  • Web filtering. 
  • Email security. 
  • Security information and event management (SIEM). 

What You’ll Need to Succeed 

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify security vulnerabilities. 
  • Strong communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to solve complex security problems.
