DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership
- Act as servant-leader to one or more agile teams; removing impediments and ensuring team productivity
- Lead by example, demonstrating and upholding scrum principles.
- Protect the team from distractions and interruptions
- Lead daily scrum standup meetings, ensuring usefulness and adherence to scrum practice
- Ensure team is evaluating stories to meet the definition of done.
- Lead team retrospectives and ensure key learning is incorporated into next sprint.
- Coaching
- Coach team members to uphold scrum principles.
- Communication/Tracking
- Track team delivery on commitments through the use of burndown charts and other visual methods
- Produce and post sprint plans and otherwise act as an information radiator.
- Track team velocity to ensure accuracy of future planning.
- Collaboration
- Work with key stakeholders to understand priorities and items to be groomed in upcoming sprints
- Ensure stakeholders are informed if changes occur that impact delivery.
- Work with other teams to ensure alignment of priorities and that dependencies are delivered in the appropriate sprints to support other teams’ delivery commitments.
- Actively drive continuous improvement in scrum practices.
- Work with customers as a key stakeholder in setting priorities, understanding requirement work, and communicating progress.
- Planning
- Drive weekly backlog grooming sessions with the team, ensuring work items are estimated and ‘ready-to-work’ per the stakeholder priorities.
- Provide input to and participate in Release Planning
- Lead Sprint Planning sessions ensuring the commitments made are appropriate and uphold scrum principles.
- Participate in daily bug scrub meetings and work with Product Owner on prioritization and assignment.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- College diploma or university degree in software engineering, computer science, or business administration and/or 3-5 years equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as Scrum Master with application software.
- 3-5 Years Project Management experience
- Experience in Supply Chain Management, Freight Forwarding, and/or Contract Logistics preferred
- CSM - Certified Scrum Master required
- CSP - Certified Scrum Professional desired
- Experience in Logistics industry desired
- Experience with EDI communications desired

- Agile Practices – basic understanding of agile/scrum iterative practices.
- Software Development – basic understanding of the fundamentals of SOA software development and the software development lifecycle.
- Acts decisively for improvement in both projects and in the organization, addresses urgent, time sensitive or crisis issues
- Leadership skills to align project and department goals with the organization's and sponsor's goals
- Proven ability to lead project team, create and maintain group cohesiveness, interact with internal and external customers, manage vendor relationships

- Experience working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be willing to occasionally work non-standard hours to support delivery of time-critical project deadlines
