Position Overview:

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced IT QA Lead - eCommerce to join our global Commerce IT team supporting the development of Global B2B Commerce and Customer portals. The IT QA Lead will play a crucial role in defining & governing quality processes, validation, and performance of our IT solutions, collaborating closely with development teams to deliver seamless, high-performing, and secure digital experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in leading teams, defining and governing testing, quality-assurance best practices, and performance validation, multi-device compatibility specifically in the context of global B2B Commerce websites. The IT QA Lead will also lead QA Automation team to maintain regression and performance testing suite. The position is expected to work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, security, and performance. This position is expected to enable AI capabilities in existing QA framework, keeping the QA technology stack up to date.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, project managers, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and ensure that quality assurance is integrated into the entire development lifecycle.
  • Lead QA teams to develop and implement detailed test plans and test cases based on business requirements, technical specifications, and user stories. Define testing methodologies, including functional, non-functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Provide leadership in best practices for quality assurance and testing within the team. Guide the development teams on test automation frameworks, quality benchmarks, and industry standards.
  • Responsible to conduct thorough functional and regression testing for IT solutions, ensuring that features, functionality, and business logic are working as expected across different browsers, devices, and environments.
  • Design and execute performance and load testing to ensure the scalability and responsiveness of the solutions. Identify potential bottlenecks, performance issues, and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Lead the development and implementation of automated tests to increase testing efficiency, reduce manual testing efforts, and ensure rapid delivery of high-quality releases.
  • Identify, report, and track defects in the system. Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues efficiently and ensure that the system meets quality standards before release.
  • Ensure the application’s responsiveness, accessibility, and compatibility across various devices, browsers, and operating systems.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of testing processes, test cases, results, and known issues. Provide clear and actionable reports to stakeholders, highlighting testing progress, risks, and quality metrics.
  • Work closely with marketing, content, UX/UI, and business teams to ensure that user-facing features are fully tested, validated, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Perform security testing to identify vulnerabilities and ensure the solution meets organizational security standards and best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for the QA process. Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and technologies, and integrate them into the team’s workflow to improve efficiency and quality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in quality assurance, testing, and validation, specifically for web-based solutions and public-facing websites.
  • Understanding of Salesforce based solutions is a must. Experience in testing Community Cloud (Sites / Communities), Commerce Cloud and CRM is preferred. Experience in Marketing Cloud testing is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in performance and load testing, using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or other performance testing tools.
  • Proven experience with automated testing frameworks - Selenium with .Net C#, Playwright
  • Experience in testing and validating the compatibility of websites across different browsers, devices, and screen sizes with Browserstack and LambdaTest.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment, with familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
  • Experience using defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar tools to report and manage issues.
  • Understanding of cloud environments, preferably Azure, and experience with cloud-based testing solutions.
  • Experience with security testing and accessibility testing to ensure secure and inclusive user experiences.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, understand intricate technical requirements, and provide actionable insights and solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring that every aspect of the product is tested thoroughly and meets the required quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues and offer creative solutions in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Relevant certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB, Certified ScrumMaster, or similar) are a plus.
