The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering technology initiatives that support organizational goals, digital transformation, and emerging AI capabilities. This role partners closely with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, identify opportunities for process improvement, and enable the adoption of innovative technologies, including automation and artificial intelligence solutions. The Project Manager ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget while driving measurable business outcomes, optimizing processes, and maintaining alignment with enterprise data, security, and governance standards. Additionally, the role plays a key part in facilitating change management, supporting user adoption, and advancing the organization’s broader digital and AI strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. 
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Lead organizational change efforts related to digital transformation and AI adoption, ensuring user enablement and training. 
  • Drive adoption of new technologies through structured communication, training, and stakeholder engagement strategies
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle.
  • Conduct project postmortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

AI & Digital Innovation 

  • Partner with business and IT leadership to identify and prioritize AI-driven use cases that improve efficiency, decision-making, and customer outcomes. 
  • Support implementation and adoption of enterprise AI platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude) in alignment with organizational strategy. 
  • Collaborate with AI Steering Committee and AI Champions to ensure project alignment with enterprise AI initiatives. 
  • Evaluate opportunities for process automation and intelligent workflows as part of project delivery. 
  • Ensure responsible and ethical use of AI technologies, including adherence to governance, compliance, and security policies.
  • Leverage enterprise analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI, WESA Analytics) to track project performance and outcomes. 
  • Promote data quality, governance, and integrity across project implementations.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Participate in the QA of purchased solutions to ensure features and functions have been enabled and optimized.
  • Participate in the selection of any requirements, documentation, and software solutions that the organization may opt to use.
  • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Determine and assess the need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments, if necessary, during the project cycle.

Operational Management

  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. 
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Ensure all projects align with organizational cybersecurity policies, NIST frameworks, and audit requirements. 
  • Partner with the Security Manager to assess risks related to data, integrations, and AI usage. 
  • Maintain documentation and evidence to support audit readiness and compliance reviews.
Qualifications

Position Requirements

  • Formal Education & Certification
  • University degree or college diploma in the field of Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration, Communication, or any related field preferred but not required.
  • Certifications in Scrum, PMP a plus

Knowledge & Experience

  • 5 + years’ direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
  • Familiarity with programming languages is a plus
  • Knowledge of multiple SDLC methodologies such as waterfall and agile. 
  • Technically competent with various software programs.
