THE PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Information Technology Project Manager will plan, establish, and manage information technology (IT) projects and will serve as a liaison between the business and technical aspects of assigned projects. This position will be primarily responsible for developing project plans including a charter, scope, work schedule and budget. This position will provide oversight and guidance to the project team and plan from project initiation through project close while utilizing a consistent structured project management methodology. This position must possess the ability to understand, evaluate and suggest improvements to business processes while collaborating with the business process owner.

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer or information science-related field required.
  • Seven or more years of related experience required in IT and project management including budget monitoring along with knowledge in one or two functional areas (i.e., Operations, Finance, Order Management, Procurement, Engineering, Human Resources or Payroll) in support of a global region (i.e., Americas, EMA or Asia/Pacific.)
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including conflict resolution.
  • Willing and able to quickly adapt to competing demands or a change in assigned priorities.
  • Comfortable embracing and actively supporting change.
  • Thorough understanding of project management principles and planning.
  • Project Management certification preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of common information technology procedures and practices.
  • Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with, a range of general and specialized applications, software, and hardware.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Projects or related software.
  • Ability to motivate groups of people to complete a project on schedule.
  • Experience in navigating organizational dynamics as well as working closely with business process owners.
  • Awareness of the cultural diversity required by globally based process owners.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES

  • Manages assigned IT projects for enterprise business functions (i.e. Operations, Finance Order Management, Engineering, Procurement, Human Resources or Payroll) for a global region location to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope of project.
  • Manages teams to persuade and influence consensus when conflict arises and to ensure that team goals are fulfilled in the best interest of Ebara and Elliott Group.
  • Develops re-engineered processes with regard to best practices in conjunction with teams and business process owners.
  • Develops, maintains, and revises proposals for assigned projects including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding, and staffing.
  • Sets and tracks project milestones and metrics; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, then realigns schedules and expectations as needed.
  • Establishes and implements project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff and stakeholders.
  • Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends as needed to prepare project status reports.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
