Position: IT Project Manager

Location: Bangalore(Onsite- Work from our client's Office) Office address: Parcel 9, Embassy Tech Village, Outer Ring Road, Deverabeesanhalli Village, Varthur Hobli, Bengaluru, 560103.  
Employment Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Experience: 10 – 18 Years

Role Summary 

Responsible for the matrix management of project teams and the oversight of designing and implementing complex technology projects, primarily related to Real Estate development, End User, and Network projects.

This involves delivering projects across all disciplines, collaborating closely across regions and multiple Technology workstreams and LOB (line of business), while engaging with senior managers and stakeholders within the organization.

  • Tasked with managing a range of infrastructure projects, with a particular emphasis on corporate fit outs, office relocations, and desktop technology deployments.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered with high quality, on scope, on time & on budget.
  • Ensure governance and control over all project financials, including the development of business cases, forecasting, and understanding profit and loss as well as depreciation.
  • Keep all projects on track, escalating decisions to executive sponsors as needed.
  • Organize the design and development of the project.
  • Ensure risk management strategies are followed and reviewed according to guidelines.
  • Plan and set project goals and milestones based on the approved Charter/Statement of Works.
  • Identify and secure resources, including the project team, vendors, and consultants.
  • Effectively detect and resolve project risks and issues. § Lead the project team.
  • Ensure project management standards and rigor are applied.
  • Develop communications for the executive sponsor and project stakeholders; conduct regular briefings and status updates.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for project-level risks, issues, questions, and escalations.
  • Prepare and/or provide project reporting, metrics, scorecards, etc.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify project interdependencies that may influence project success.
  • Support the team in distributing project information to executive management and key stakeholders.
  • Create an environment that fosters trust and collaboration with others, exhibiting a strategic business focus with a customer-oriented perspective.
  • Recognize areas for internal improvement and develop plans for implementing them.
  • Comply with company standards and procedures. § Manage budget and financial aspects, including the completion of business cases.
  • Evaluate the impact on Total Cost of Ownership for multiple simultaneous, complex projects.

 

Work Experience

  • Substantial IT Project Management experience, or relevant business or team leadership
  • 7+ years’ experience with projects in multiple technologies & functions
  • Extensive experience in managing projects through all phases of the life cycle and expert working knowledge of an industry recognized Project Management methodology
  • Strong knowledge of industry standard project management tools for financial and project reporting (Clarity, Service Now, Microsoft Project)
  • Formal project management training and discipline knowledge required
  • Knowledge of technologies, systems, drivers and trends in global investment banking environments backed by a solid understanding of the banking industry fundamentals
  • Awareness of Agile Project Management techniques would be beneficial.
  • An understanding of line of business technology drivers § Knowledge and understanding of banking regulatory, compliance, risk and security aspects
  • Proven experience managing geographically distributed and culturally diverse work groups
  • Knowledge of Permit to Build and Permit to Operate
  • Extensive experience with multi-million-dollar projects with high complexity and client focus.
  • Proven experience at delivering high quality projects on time & within budget
  • Extensive experience at presenting metrics to key stakeholders
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills across functions and teams, up and down the chain of command
  • Listening and gathering customer/user inputs. Simplifying complex topics for non-technical audiences and preparing quick pointed summaries for executives and stakeholders.
  • Ability to motivate Project teams
  • Strong leadership & good analytical skills § Proven negotiation & influencing skills
  • Strong stakeholder management & customer focus
  • Strong knowledge of IT environment and working with external Service Providers / Vendors.

Technical Skills

  • Track record of delivering technology Real Estate / Network type Projects
  • Management and escalation of underlying project Risks /Issue/ Change
  • Budget & Financial Management
  • Strong understanding of, and adherence to, Standard Project Lifecycle requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferably in the financial services industry
  • PMP / PRINCE or other formal project management discipline preferred, familiarity with Agile delivery practices beneficial
  • Excellent oral & written communication across functions and teams, up and down the chain of command
  • Proven ability to lead project teams in delivering on time, high quality solutions
  • Experience with Project Task Estimation, Resource Scheduling, Risk Management, and Issue Management
