THE OPPORTUNITY

Dillard's is seeking an IT Project Manager in Little Rock, Arkansas, who will lead complex IT projects while tracking milestones, hours, and budget resources. This role offers the opportunity to build relationships throughout the enterprise with infrastructure, developers, other business departments, and vendors while learning about the technologies employed within our organization. 

The ideal candidate would be a responsible, disciplined self-starter with excellent communication skills. For this role, it is crucial to be open to feedback and criticism, flexible but decisive when needed, proactive, a problem solver, and a leader. This position is documentation-heavy, requiring the ability to translate technical procedures into business solutions and deliver on commitments. The candidate should also be comfortable leading meetings with business leaders.

THE TEAM

The Governance, Risk, and Compliance team is responsible for IT policies, standards, and procedures and audit compliance, such as SOX and PCI. We engage closely with the Information Security team to review risk acceptances and assessments. Our team performs privacy impact assessments to determine business processes that store personal data. We work on a variety of projects across the IT department.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Exhibit ownership, follow-through, initiative, awareness, and effective communication with IT project teams.
  • Articulate goals and initiatives effectively to gain stakeholders' buy-in, trust, and collaboration.
  • Establish and manage project plans, project reporting timetables, issue/resolution processes, and requirements prioritization.
  • Communicate schedules, changes, and deadlines clearly and efficiently.
  • Identify trends, root causes, and key risk indicators contributing to drift and escalate to management.
  • Capture essential data needed for capital projects and tax documents.

WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU’LL

  • Become familiar with the company’s policies and standards
  • Understand the team’s project management tool, processes, and relationships
  • Review webinars for the project management tool
  • Understand the purpose and status of current projects
  • Become familiar with key stakeholders and vendors
  • Meet with each member of the GRC team to gain further clarity into their role

WITHIN 2 MONTHS, YOU’LL

  • Shadow seasoned GRC team members
  • Facilitate a current project meeting(s)
  • Work with a team member to monitor project progress against the plan and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Communicate project status and progress to stakeholders.

WITHIN 3 MONTHS, YOU’LL

  • Take on a smaller project.
  • Develop a detailed project plan, including a schedule and budget, if needed.
  • Review and refine the project scope and objectives
  • Identify any resource gaps and work with stakeholders to address them
