Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Management and Leadership:
The PM will delivery any aspect of the SDLC (system development life cycle) primarily doing this through leading technology staff and/or outside vendors. The selected candidate will:
Manage two (2) to six (6) or more Boar’s Head employees; these employees will be from multiple paygrades and/or bands Manage outside vendors including: SaaS, consultants and contractors Manage concurrent projects Provide management briefings and updates (manager or above) Have relevant and recent technical and managerial experience and skills
The PM will work closely with the infrastructure team, security team and Enterprise Architect to ensure recommendations and identified technology solutions are in alignment with the current and future infrastructure, security and architecture. The PM also develops necessary business cases that effectively illustrate the value of the need for new technical innovation and applications/tools.
Solution Development:
This candidate participate in idea generation, needs analysis and evaluation our business unit’s operational efficiencies needs and map that to existing and/or or emerging technologies that can help improve. This includes solution identification/selection, process improvements to technology innovation best practices, design and development of the necessary requirements, functional specifications, and process artifacts to support system development efforts to drive and implement strategic solutions.
- Identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, and problems.
- Analyze and define resource requirements (skills needed for implementation, infrastructure components, etc.) to support implementation and future growth/scalability of IT solutions
- Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of business operations, identifying opportunities for operational efficiency through automation and effective utilization of existing or newly acquired (or built) software applications and packages.
- Build and reengineer core business processes to enable standardization and optimal effectiveness
An ideal candidate will lead applications/software project from planning, design, development, and implementation. An ideal candidate will have some experience working with at least one business area, such as: Manufacturing, Distribution, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, or HR.
Analytical & Design Duties:
- Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources.
- Help facilitate Gap-Fit Analysis
- Drive the identification of technology partners that can address identified gaps (to include assisting in contract negotiations – SOW scope statements etc.).
- Help Broker signoff on functional requirements and process documentation from the appropriate business process owners and all key impacted stakeholders.
Communication:
- Demonstrates strong oral communication skills
- Demonstrates strong written communications skills
- Communicates technical concepts and issues to non-technical people
- Interacts with all levels of the company with patience, courtesy, diplomacy, and professionalism
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration /Accounting/Financials required
- 4-8 years' experience in supporting and delivering web, mobile, or enterprise tool suite. Experience with Oracle e-Business Suite (EBS) considered a plus
- Experience working in a Manufacturing and/or Distribution company a plus
- Experience with Agile methodology preferable
- Experience in the following areas also a plus:
- Working knowledge of PL/SQL
- Knowledge of DB tables, views, and schema objects
- Understanding of reporting/analytics tools
- Oracle e-Business Suite (EBS) or Web & Mobile Technologies, or analytics and data mining
- Hands on experience with the full Microsoft Office Suite and tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, RavenFlow, SmartDraw, Trello, Jira.
- Demonstrated history of project management of successful software/applications efforts
- Self-starter/motivator and having a proactive and strategic mindset are a must
- Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Strong Collaboration and Coalition Building Skills
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- System/Tool Certifications (or willingness to achieve a certification) in project management methodologies such as PMP and other industry recognized methodologies such as SCRUM
