A Day in the LifeMedtronic MiniMed is embarking on an exciting Greenfield implementation of SAP S4 ERP (RISE). This is a strategic and time-sensitive global program, covering the Americas, EMEA, LATAM, and Asia over a several year period.
The SAP Implementation Lead is responsible for overseeing and driving the successful planning, execution, and delivery of MiniMed’s Greenfield SAP S4 ERP within the organization. This role will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, ensure alignment with business objectives, and serve as the primary point of contact between stakeholders and the SAP implementation team.
This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead end-to-end SAP implementation projects, including planning, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.

  • Collaborate with business and functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into SAP solutions, with a focus on using standard “Clean Core” Business Processes.

  • Lead SI partners to develop and maintain detailed project plans, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.

  • Manage and mentor SAP project team members, including internal staff and external consultants.

  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT, and SI vendors.

  • Ensure SAP solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with company policies and industry best practices.

  • Oversee change management, training, and communication efforts to drive user adoption.

  • Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, and present updates to senior leadership. 

    Required Knowledge and Experience: 
    Requires a Bachelors degree and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience and 7+  years of managerial experience.

    Nice to Have:

    • Master’s degree

    • 5+ years of experience in SAP implementation, with at least 2 years in a lead or project management role.

    • Strong understanding of SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, HCM) and business processes.

    • Experience with project management methodologies specifically including Activate methodology (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

    • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

    • Proven track record of delivering SAP projects on time and within budget.

    • SAP certification(s) preferred.

    • Project management and organizational skills

    • Problem-solving and analytical thinking

    • Team leadership and people management

    • Strong written and verbal communication

    • Change management and training expertise

    Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$176,800.00 - $265,200.00

    This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

    This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

    The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

    The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

     

    The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

     

    Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
