The opportunity
We are looking for an IT/OT System engineer to join out Hitachi Energy in Mannheim, Germany.
You will be part of a team of talented engineers tasked with deploying and securing the next generation of control systems within HVDC. You will be responsible for integrating and implementing features aligning with customer- and market requirements. In this position you will serve as a key resource in the assigned area contributing to deployments of the MACH control platform in large HVDC project deliveries at Hitachi Energy.
How you’ll make an impact
Design and implement system, network and cybersecurity architectures in HVDC projects with focus on OT including HMI, SCADA and automation
Build complete network and system infrastructures to support operations while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards
Develop and configure HMI and SCADA systems and integrate them with automation platforms
Conduct risk assessments and support development of mitigation strategies for OT systems
Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for automation and control systems
Prepare technical documentation such as system architecture diagrams, configuration guidelines and cybersecurity reports
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system compatibility and alignment with project goals
Mentor junior engineers and promote internal knowledge-sharing initiatives depending on experience level
Identify and implement process improvements and technical innovations depending on experience level
Your background
University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
2-4 years of professional experience in the IT/OT field
Experience in human machine interface design and testing, Aveva platform, Micro Scada or similar
Experience in SCADA, automation design and testing, IEC101, IEC104, IEC61850 or similar along with scripting languages and automation technologies
Experience with databases and high-availability solutions, as well as network equipment as firewalls, switches, GPS clocks and redundant network designs and protocols
Knowledge of Microsoft client and server operating systems, Active Directory and security-related systems is a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; German language skills are an advantage
Willingness for business travels to Ludvika, Sweden for development with the team and to take part of necessary testing
