JOB SUMMARY:
TINA provides shared services to North American entities of TICO, Japan. TINA’s Information Technology team is responsible for providing IT shared services to numerous locations (subsidiaries) across North America. These IT shared services include datacenter and cloud IaaS, LAN/WAN services, information security services, server/desktop management, desk phone administration, active directory administration, email, and IT consulting services.
The engineer in this role will be a member of the team that supports and manages these services and the infrastructure that hosts them. The position requires Windows administration experience and a working understanding of Active Directory, Windows Operating Systems, and virtualized environments. The Windows Systems Engineer will be responsible for providing level 2 and 3 support to our internal customers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research and recommend the most appropriate platforms, solutions, configuration, and infrastructure options for the delivery of IT Shared Services
- Contribute to the roadmap for the evolution and maturity of the environment with a focus on meeting current business needs as well as being scalable for future needs.
- Actively contribute toward improvements that allow for more efficient support of the environment, applications, and customers.
- Collaborate with the team to increase the availability of our services by providing iterative improvements to existing infrastructure solutions
- Install, configure, test, maintain, and patch Windows operating systems, Windows applications, and system management tools (SCCM and Intune).
- Administer and maintain shared services applications and infrastructure (i.e. Active Directory, Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, SD-WAN, MDO (or M$ security suite), DNS, TEAMS voice)
- Work with our MSP to coordinate the troubleshooting and configuration of the WAN.
- Participate in Sec-ops activities as they relate to supporting TINA’s shared services
- Support the operations of multiple datacenters (and the infrastructure contained within them) and multiple Azure Tenants
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support and troubleshoot complex problems via email, phone, and other electronic medium
- Participate in system migrations and special projects/product development activities as assigned
- Prepare documentation and participate in the creation of standards and implementation processes to ensure product uniformity and quality
- Participate in after-hours, on-call rotation, and maintenance windows activities
- Follow best practices, strategies, methodologies, and approaches to systems administration tasks and projects assignments
- Participate in self-guided and classroom training to continuously improve technical skills
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Minimum 5 year’s professional experience managing and administering Windows environments
- Experience delivering a product, application, or technology from inception to implementation/ongoing support is preferred
- Intermediate Network experience (Cisco Routing, Switching, V-Lan; Firewall mgmt. (Palo Alto))
- Strong knowledge of current Windows desktop and server operating systems
- Experience with Microsoft technologies, including: Active Directory, Active Directory DNS, current Office productivity suite, System Center Configuration Manager/Intune, Group Policy
- Experience automating the administration of Windows Environments
- Experience providing end-user support for incidents, requests, and changes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to target communications to various audiences, from basic user to executives
- Microsoft 365 administration experience
- Experience working in an ITIL environment
- Experience administering Virtual Environments (Nutanix and VMware HCI) and Azure subscriptions
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar tracking system
- Experience with Software Packaging and deployment
- Scripting (PowerShell, VBScript) Experience
TRAVEL:
- Limited travel is expected with this position
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and communicate verbally and in writing. Manual dexterity and coordination are required to operate standard office equipment such as computer keyboard, calculator, and printer. Work will be performed in an open office environment with cubicles. In limited situations, duties could involve moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Skills Required
- At least 5 years of professional experience managing and administering Windows environments
