We are looking for a talented IT Operations Director - LATAM to join our team specializing in IT for our Cummins in México.

Job Summary:

The IT Operations Director-LatAm leads the strategy, delivery, and continuous improvement of IT operations, ensuring infrastructure, systems, and services align with business objectives and support secure, reliable, and scalable operations. This leader oversees IT infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments, driving operational excellence through automation, process optimization, and data-driven decision-making. The role partners closely with enterprise technology, cybersecurity, and business leaders to ensure service performance, compliance, resiliency, and cost effectiveness, while leading incident management, vendor relationships, and regional IT teams to deliver consistent, high-quality support across the organization. This role is based in San Luis Potosi on-site with flexibility. 

What you will be able to accomplish:

  •  Define and execute the regional IT strategy for DBU Latin America, ensuring alignment with global business objectives and local market requirements
  • Lead, develop and mentor multidisciplinary IT teams across multiple countries in LATAM, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and operational excellence
  • Oversee the delivery of major technology programs and projects, ensuring that timelines, budgets and quality standards are met
  • Collaborate with global technology teams to align regional priorities, share best practices and accelerate enterprise-wide initiatives
  • Establish performance metrics and reporting mechanisms to monitor service quality, operational performance and technology outcomes.
  • Oversee the transition of the regional LATAM IT teams to a product-oriented structure
  • Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities where technology can improve operational efficiency, customer experience and business growth.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives and oversee the implementation of new technologies, automation capabilities and AI-enabled solutions
  • Supported by the platform teams, own the reliability of core technology services, including infrastructure, networks, end-user computing, enterprise applications and cloud platforms.
  • Ensure the resilience, availability and recoverability of critical systems through effective business continuity, disaster recovery and incident management programs. 
    • Maintain robust cybersecurity, data protection and technology risk management practices in accordance with regional regulations and corporate policies. 

    • Manage regional IT budgets, vendor relationships and strategic sourcing activities to optimise costs and maximise value 

    • Standardise IT governance, processes and controls across the LATAM region while balancing country-specific requirements

  • Technical Acumen - Demonstrates broad and adaptable technical expertise to ensure reliable IT service delivery, support, and administration across diverse environments, including enterprise, cybersecurity, and operational technology domains.  
  • Process Management and Optimization - Designs, refines, and automates IT operations processes to improve efficiency, consistency, service quality, security, and cost effectiveness across diverse environments.  
  • Service Quality and Reliability - Ensures IT services consistently meet performance, availability, and user satisfaction expectations by proactively maintaining service integrity, minimizing disruptions, and driving continuous improvement through collaboration, cost-effective practices, and operational excellence.  
  • Risk Management - Proactively identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks to IT services, data, and operations by applying structured controls and communication strategies to strengthen resilience, ensure compliance, and reduce business impact through structured controls, cost-aware decision-making, and communication strategies.  
  • Incident and Problem Management - Responds to disruptions and recurring issues by restoring service quickly, identifying root causes, and applying structured methods to reduce risk, improve reliability, and prevent recurrence.  
  • Reporting and Analytics - Uses data and reporting tools to monitor, analyze, and improve IT operational performance, enabling proactive decision-making, compliance, and service excellence across enterprise and local environments.  
  • Vendor Engagement and Management - Builds and maintains effective relationships with external vendors to ensure IT services, tools, and support meets business needs.  
  • Driving Effective Outcomes - Takes ownership, acts with urgency, and initiates action to turn goals into clear plans, decisions, guardrails, and cadences while navigating ambiguity and change to drive momentum and deliver consistent results.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven success in managing teams, budgets, and technology transformations in global environments.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in IT operations, with at least 5 years in a multi-site or enterprise leadership role.  
  • Preferred certifications include ITIL, PMP, or equivalent
