To support our extraordinary teams—who build outstanding automation and maintain enterprise databases—we're looking to add an MSSQL IT Manager based at our Guadalajara, North Campus location. Leading a team of database professionals who report directly to this role, the MSSQL Manager combines deep SQL Server technical expertise with proven leadership experience to set technical direction and ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our enterprise SQL Server estate.
What a typical day looks like:
- Define, design, implement and hold up enterprise databases systems helping various business application solutions.
- Prepare Standard Operating procedures for the day-to-day maintenance of the databases.
- Implement adequate administrative tools and processes for these enterprise database systems.
- Proactive monitoring of enterprise database systems to ensure they are adequately sized to meet the dynamic requirements from the business solutions.
- Establish clear communication channels and ensure proper feedback mechanisms are in place with customers, peers, and cross functional teams.
- Adherence to Service level acceptance accord with the Business. Ensure timely reviews with stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance of the systems w.r.t security and SOX requirements.
- Ensure these database systems are always up to date in terms of Security patches.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 + years of related experience.
- Demonstrates solid and technical skills of DATA BASE, SQL, the functional impact upon work processes and other functions.
- Strong Leadership experience.
- Advanced English level.
Cloud Database Management:
- Design, deploy, and manage SQL database solutions on Azure and AWS.
- Migrate on-premises SQL Server databases to Azure and AWS using Azure Database Migration Service, AWS DMS, and native SQL Server tools.
- Manage SQL Server security.
- Implement SQL Server provisioning using ARM templates, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
Development & Automation:
- Develop and maintain T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, and jobs for database maintenance and business logic.
- Create automation scripts for SQL Server administration tasks.
- DevOps.
Performance Tuning & Optimization :
- Analyze and optimize SQL Server query performance using execution plans, DMVs, Extended Events, and Query Store.
- Design and implement indexing strategies for large-scale MSSQL databases.
