Role Overview:

We are seeking an IT Manager to lead our small, dynamic team, combining technical expertise with leadership skills. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of our IT infrastructure while also driving execution to achieve strategic initiatives to improve efficiency and performance.

As the IT Manager, you will function as a hands-on Systems Administrator, responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting hardware, and software. You will ensure the integrity of all IT systems while managing vendor relationships and navigating IT policies and procedures for the success of our growing organization.

In addition to the technical aspects, you will lead and mentor your team, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations and professional development. You’ll work closely with other departments to align IT initiatives with business strategy and goals.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the business needs and translate them into IT solutions.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends to ensure the company’s IT capabilities remain competitive and current
  • Maintain SAS licenses across departments, including user management & renewal processes
  • Assist with fixed asset management across the organization
  • Assist in troubleshooting vendor-related issues with departments within Teachstone and collaborate with Teachstone departments to integrate vendor software into our internal infrastructure. Provision hardware and software application for new users. Maintain and add to our current Gold Image standard for OS deployment
  • Track, route, and redirect service tickets to the correct resources in a timely fashion.
  • Help to define, document, and automate processes in use by the IT team on various platforms such as Google Suite and Atlassian Jira
  • Create self-help documents for end users and IT staff
  • Assist with daily, monthly, and quarterly Security related processes, tasks, and maintenance tickets
  • Configure and troubleshoot issues related to: MacBook laptops; cloud based NAS and SAN issues; VPN Clients; Google Suite administration; Cisco Meraki; Firewalls; Office 365; Macintosh OS on Apple devices; and other third-party software platforms
  • Work closely with 3rd-party vendors for all systems IT manages for the purposes of troubleshooting and integration
  • When asked, assist staff on other IT teams with a variety of technical issues
  • Work on Supervisor assigned tasks outside your technical comfort zone
  • Deliver quality work in a service delivery driven environment.

Role Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Google Workspace (4+ years), Kandji, Okta provisioning & SSO and Jira
  • Strong understanding of core IT principles and systems including desktop/server OS, Okta or a similar IDP, DNS, DHCP, networking, VOIP, and security infrastructures.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work through end user migration and adoption of new software.
  • Experienced with configuring and troubleshooting MacBooks, IT networking and infrastructure gear, both locally hosted and remote
  • Understanding of ITIL and ITSM frameworks specifically focused on budgetary and organizational goal alignment.
  • Able to exercise sound professional judgment 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Solid experience and comfort working with and interacting with external vendors (problem identification and resolution, account management)
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to speak clearly and explain detailed solution steps to end users, both local and remote using plain non-technical language.  
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Availability to work shifts that may occur overnight or on weekends, or availability to work on call for those shifts 
  • Ability to effectively deal with change and shifting priorities
