Localization, design governance, testing, cutover, hypercare, service transition, TSA exit, controls and continuous improvement.

Tax, Treasury, R2R, Finance Controls, GBS, market Finance, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Data, SAP teams, implementation partners and managed-service providers.

Key Outcomes

·   Controlled, on-time deployment of Tax, Treasury and Finance Risk capabilities across assigned markets and waves.

·   A coherent global solution with localization limited to approved legal, statutory, regulatory or critical business requirements.

·   Stable post-go-live operations with clear ownership, effective controls, measurable service performance and sustainable BAU support.

·   Accurate and complete integration of tax, cash, payment, accounting and risk-control data across the finance ecosystem.

·   A prioritized improvement roadmap that reduces manual intervention, recurring incidents and long-term dependency on transitional services.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Enterprise Process and Technology Ownership

Set direction for the Tax, Treasury and Finance Risk technology portfolio and provide a single senior point of accountability for end-to-end business outcomes. Align process, data, controls, architecture and service ownership across global, market and GBS teams.

·   Own the technology roadmap and governance agenda, balancing regulatory compliance, business continuity, control effectiveness, user experience and total cost of ownership.

·   Translate enterprise priorities into clear capability plans, investment choices, delivery milestones and accountable outcomes.

·   Challenge fragmented solutions, unnecessary customization and short-term workarounds that create structural risk or support complexity.

·   Govern dependencies with R2R, P2P and OTC so tax, treasury and risk requirements are reflected consistently in postings, master data, interfaces, reconciliations and reporting.

SAP S/4HANA Deployment and Market Readiness

·   Lead the Tax, Treasury and Finance Risk workstream across deployment waves, aligned with the approved global template and program governance.

·   Assess country requirements and distinguish mandatory tax, legal and statutory needs from local preferences; drive fit-to-standard decisions and formal escalation where required.

·   Coordinate solution validation, configuration review, data readiness, integration testing, UAT, defect resolution, business sign-off and cutover readiness.

·   Maintain transparent oversight of risks, issues, dependencies, decisions and actions, with clear ownership and timely escalation to senior forums.

·   Ensure market, GBS and support teams are operationally ready through role clarity, access, procedures, training, knowledge transfer and support acceptance.

Tax Technology and Statutory Enablement

·   Provide senior IT leadership for indirect-tax determination, withholding tax, tax-code governance, tax payments, statutory reporting, e-invoicing and related compliance capabilities.

·   Govern SAP and connected tax solutions, including country-specific integration requirements, invoice content, numbering, reporting and government-platform connectivity.

·   Partner with Global and Market Tax to evaluate regulatory change, determine technology impact, protect compliant processing and prioritize legally mandated delivery.

·   Ensure tax postings and settlements integrate accurately with supplier, customer, banking and general-ledger processes, with appropriate approval and reconciliation controls.

·   Provide clear recommendations where standard SAP, tax-engine and local-provider options require trade-offs among compliance, traceability, scalability and supportability.

Treasury and Cash-Management Technology

·   Lead technology outcomes across cash positioning, liquidity and cash-flow reporting, bank and payment integration, treasury accounting, foreign-exchange and intercompany-funding touchpoints.

·   Govern integration between SAP S/4HANA, Kyriba, banking channels and related services, ensuring complete data flow, monitoring, reconciliation and exception ownership.

·   Partner with Treasury to validate business requirements, configuration, controls, testing, cutover and operational support for critical treasury capabilities.

·   Ensure payment-related solutions use secure access, appropriate approvals, segregation of duties and auditable evidence.

PLATFORM, CONTROL & SERVICE LEADERSHIP

Finance Risk, Controls and Compliance

·   Embed preventive and detective controls into process and solution design across tax, treasury, payments, journals, interfaces, master data and reporting.

·   Govern access, approval workflows, segregation of duties, privileged roles, evidence retention and control ownership in partnership with Finance Controls and Cybersecurity.

·   Provide technology leadership for Finance risk and assurance capabilities, including AuditBoard and connected control-monitoring solutions.

·   Ensure system changes and operational workarounds are risk-assessed, time-bound, documented and subject to appropriate approval.

·   Support internal and external audit requirements and drive sustainable remediation of technology, process and control findings.

SAP and Integrated Technology Leadership

Act as the functional technology authority for the portfolio, with sufficient depth to challenge designs, make trade-offs and resolve cross-platform issues without turning the role into a technical-development position.

·   Govern end-to-end architecture and integration across SAP S/4HANA Finance, SAP DRC, Vertex / Accelerator+, Kyriba, BlackLine, AuditBoard, ServiceNow, banking, government and reporting platforms.

·   Ensure interface controls, reconciliation points, monitoring responsibilities, error handling, data ownership and support procedures are explicitly defined and operational.

·   Assess solution changes for business value, statutory impact, security, controls, data integrity, scalability and long-term support.

·   Partner with enterprise architecture, integration, data, security and application teams to resolve complex issues and maintain design coherence.

·   Protect the integrity of the Universal Journal and downstream finance reporting by ensuring complete and accurate source-to-ledger processing.

Testing, Cutover and Go-Live Assurance

·   Set the test strategy and acceptance criteria for standard, exception, high-risk and locally mandated scenarios.

·   Ensure SIT and UAT cover end-to-end process outcomes, interfaces, roles, controls, reconciliations, statutory outputs and operational procedures.

·   Own senior review of critical defects, workarounds, residual risks and go-live recommendations for the portfolio.

·   Lead cutover readiness for configuration, master data, balances, mappings, interfaces, access, reporting and control evidence.

·   Confirm that unresolved issues have accountable owners, approved mitigation and an agreed route to closure before production transition.

Hypercare, Stabilization and BAU Operating Model

·   Lead post-go-live stabilization, prioritizing compliance, payment, cash, reporting and control-critical incidents.

·   Establish triage, escalation and decision forums with transparent ownership, service performance and root-cause tracking.

·   Define the BAU model across business teams, GBS, IT, AMS providers and implementation partners, including service boundaries, SLAs, runbooks and governance.

·   Drive permanent corrective action for recurring issues and reduce dependency on manual workarounds and project resources.

·   Accept transition into BAU only when ownership, skills, access, documentation, monitoring and support capability are demonstrably in place.

TRANSFORMATION & SENIOR LEADERSHIP

TSA Exit and Standalone Readiness

·   Lead readiness for migration of Tax, Treasury and Finance Risk services, data, interfaces and responsibilities from transitional arrangements into TMICC-controlled capabilities.

·   Maintain clear exit criteria, dependency maps, readiness evidence, contingency plans and decision points for critical services.

·   Protect continuity of tax determination, statutory submissions, payments, cash visibility, treasury operations, accounting and control execution through transition.

·   Close residual ownership and capability gaps through knowledge transfer, documentation, shadowing, service acceptance and targeted capability building.

Continuous Improvement, Automation and Data

·   Create and maintain a prioritized portfolio roadmap based on compliance need, risk reduction, business value, user impact and implementation effort.

·   Simplify processes and reduce non-standard practices while preserving justified legal and regulatory requirements.

·   Use operational data, control results and incident trends to identify bottlenecks, recurring failure points and automation opportunities.

·   Advance workflow, analytics and responsible AI-enabled use cases that improve forecasting, exception management, assurance and decision support.

·   Track benefits and ensure approved improvements are embedded in process documentation, controls, training and BAU governance.

Stakeholder, Partner and People Leadership

·   Build trusted partnerships with senior leaders across Tax, Treasury, R2R, Finance Controls, GBS, market Finance and Digital & Technology.

·   Lead cross-functional governance and create alignment on priorities, design decisions, ownership, delivery commitments and risk acceptance.

·   Manage implementation partners, software providers and AMS teams against agreed outcomes, quality, controls and service expectations.

·   Communicate complex finance and technology topics in clear business language, presenting options, implications and recommendations for decision.

·   Coach direct and matrix team members, strengthen functional capability and create a culture of ownership, challenge and continuous improvement.

Experience and Qualifications

·   Significant experience in Finance technology, enterprise applications or Finance transformation within a complex, global or multi-market organization.

·   Demonstrated leadership of SAP S/4HANA implementation, rollout, localization or stabilization, including testing, cutover, go-live and BAU transition.

·   Strong experience across at least two of the following domains, with credible working knowledge of the others: Tax technology, Treasury technology, R2R / Financial Accounting, Finance controls and risk.

·   Proven ability to lead cross-functional programs involving business teams, GBS, architecture, security, implementation partners and managed-service providers.

·   Experience governing integrated solutions, data flows, controls and service models rather than managing a single standalone application.

·   Strong stakeholder influence, structured decision-making and communication skills, including the ability to advise senior leaders on complex choices and risks.

·   Experience in FMCG, consumer goods, food, manufacturing or another high-volume, multi-country environment is advantageous.

A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline is expected. Relevant qualifications or certifications in SAP, Tax, Treasury, Accounting, Risk, Technology or Transformation are advantageous.
