What will you be doing?
As a Linux Engineer you will be working alongside a talented team of IT experts and stakeholders to deliver the best possible results for our customers. As a linux engineer, you will ensure that our solutions are delivered according to the highest standards, while also collaborating with the IT architect, (lead) engineers and the service desk.
Responsibilities

Installation, configuration, testing and commissioning of customer-specific Linux IT infrastructure solutions as part of projects or replacements of existing installations.
These solutions consist mainly of Linux servers, but also can be workstations, clients and industrial PC’s. -
In-house test support for delivered machines towards the project

Error analysis, re-certification and troubleshooting throughout the lifecycle of the customer

Supporting the IT service with patching, upgrades, system expansion and updates to our customers

Participation in the review and development of new IT solutions.

Installation, configuration of IT service products (for example antivirus, monitoring, backup services)
What do we ask from you?
-
Knowledge of various Linux distributions. Equivalent to (Red Hat) System Administrator certification or LPIC 1. LPIC 2 is an advantage.

Knowledge of Pacemaker, Corrosync, Drbd.

Automation skills in Ansible and shellscripting.

Virtualization (VMWare)
-
Knowledge of Windows administration and ESx is an advantage

Containerisation principles and tooling, like Kubernetes, Docker, Helm is an advantage

Infrastructure Monitoring (Opsview and/or OP5 and/or Nagios) is an advantage

Experience with incident management and change management tooling
To be eligible for this position, you must:
-
Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant field, e.g. Computer Science or Information Technology

5 years of experience within IT, of which:
-
3 years of experience with Linux in complex systems
-
Have a positive, hands on and can-do attitude
-
Be fluent in English (written and verbal)

You will be part of the ICT Projects department, which is responsible for implementing and supporting the customer IT infrastructure. You will play a significant role in our delivery of our diverse services. From a technical scope the ICT projects department implements and maintains the IT infrastructure such as Microsoft/Linux OS standards, VM ware, various storage solutions, networking all running on HP infrastructure hardware.
