Your main tasks and responsibilities: 

Portfolio & Project Management  

  • Lead and guide overall execution of multiple IT Projects, ensuring alignment with Sulzer’s strategic priorities. 

  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery, budget adherence and manage interdependencies between projects. 

  • Maintain project documentation, status reports, and dashboards for leadership and stakeholders. 

Governance & Methodology  

  • Apply and promote consistent project management methodologies, tools, and reporting standards. 

  • Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and contribute to process improvement initiatives. 

Stakeholder Management  

  • Build strong relationships with business leaders and IT stakeholders to ensure project objectives meet business needs, leading the IT project Steering Committees. 

  • Act as a key point of contact for project-related communication and issue resolution. 

  • Proactively engage in business partnering, acting as a trusted advisor to business divisions and supporting the identification, prioritization, and management of IT demands to maximize value delivery. 

Demand Management 

  • Lead the demand management process by capturing, evaluating, and prioritizing business requirements, ensuring alignment with Sulzer’s strategic objectives and resource availability. 

  • Facilitate transparent decision-making on project selection and resource allocation. 

Vendor & Financial Management  

  • Support vendor selection, contract management, and performance tracking for project-related services. 

  • Assist in project budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance tracking. 

Operational Excellence  

  • Drive efficiency in project delivery and resource allocation. 

  • Champion continuous improvement and simplification across project processes and tools. 

Sulzer Core Ambition Program 

  • Actively contribute to the SulzerCore Ambition Program by ensuring that all project and portfolio activities support the organizations goals and strategic ambitions. 

Team Collaboration & Development  

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to a culture of accountability and excellence. 

  • Mentor junior project managers or team members as needed. 

  • Drive efficiency across IT operations, including resource allocation, vendor management, and performance tracking. 

  • Champion continuous improvement and simplification across the IT landscape, including consolidation of tools and platforms.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

  • 9+ years of professional experience in IT and business/industry environments

  • At least 5 years of experience in team management and leadership roles

  • Strong experience with project methods and methodologies

  • Solid knowledge of operating models (Ops Models)

  • Proven experience in financial management within IT or project-driven environments

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Project management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent practical experience

  • Fluent in English

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and change management

  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, multicultural environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate technical solutions into business terms

  • Deep appreciation for Sulzer’s divisional complexity and entrepreneurial culture

  • Ability to challenge the status quo and promote a unified OneSulzer mindset

  • Strategic thinker with strong operational rigor and a clear bias for execution
