IT Intern

Housemarque is looking for an IT Intern for a paid internship of 5-12 months! 

Please note: This opportunity is exclusively for students. To be accepted, your internship must be part of a degree program in Finland, preferably a Bachelor's degree in the field of IT.

THE JOB

Are you curious about the world of IT and eager to make a real impact by helping others? Are you looking for a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow your IT skills in an exciting and supportive environment in a world-class video game studio in Helsinki?

Housemarque, a member of PlayStation Studios, is excited to welcome a motivated IT Intern to our team! You'll work closely with our experienced IT Specialists and SysOps, gaining hands-on experience in keeping our studio running smoothly. You'll play a vital role in ensuring our game developers have the tools and support they need to create amazing games. Your journey with us will involve contributing to our Helpdesk, assisting our team members, and collaborating on the development of our IT practices and policies.

This is an on-site internship in our Helsinki studio, where you'll be fully integrated into our IT team. While a passion for supporting game development is a plus, no prior games industry experience is required – we're looking for enthusiasm and a willingness to learn! You'll be paired with an experienced mentor who will guide you through your onboarding and provide ongoing support throughout your internship. At Housemarque, you'll be a valued member of a collaborative and empowered team, supported by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

What will your day-to-day look like?

• Providing hardware and software support for our 100+ users, with guidance from the team.
• Helping users with network issues (Network config, VPN, etc.) while learning best practices.
• Working in IT helpdesk, gaining practical experience in user support.
• Developing our IT practices and policies alongside with the team, contributing your ideas and learning from experienced professionals.

• A proactive attitude, a willingness to take ownership of tasks, and enthusiasm for teamwork.
• Excellent spoken and written English skills to communicate effectively with the team and users. Our staff is very international and English is our main working language.
• A knack for figuring things out and the ability to manage your time effectively.
• The ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• A helpful and patient approach when assisting others.
• An interest in how computers work, and prior experience assembling computers from parts.
• Prior knowledge of Active Directory management.
• Familiarity with the Windows operating system.
• A hands-on approach and a desire to get involved.

• Exposure to information security tools and practices.
• Familiarity with macOS.
• Experience with Mobile Device Management concepts.
• Understanding of centralized workstation management systems.

This is a paid internship for the period of 5-12 months, based in Helsinki, Finland.
