Job Title: Information Technology Student Intern
Department: Education ACTIV (WDE)
Reports To: WDE Project Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
General Statement of Duties:
The Workforce Development and Education division manages a student internship program within Focus: HOPE. This program provides Information Technology graduates with the opportunity to put theory into practice with real-world experience, working with Focus: HOPE’s Workforce Development and Education and Information Systems technical support department. The interns provide general IT support for Focus: HOPE colleagues.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance to staff and customers on hardware and software-related issues.
- Provide quality, efficient, and professional customer service and technical support.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, hardware, and software.
- Track and respond to help requests using the Focus: HOPE help desk ticketing system.
- Follow established procedures and processes for computer maintenance.
- Research and recommend solutions for technical problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the WDE Project Manager.

Perform duties under the supervision of the WDE Project Manager

Education, Training and Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Must be a recent graduate of Focus: HOPE’s Information Technologies Center
- Current A+ or other CompTIA certification is required
- Knowledge and experience in deployment and support of PC-based hardware
- Ability to manage deployment of desktop images and installation of software
- Ability to diagnose and resolve computer desktop problems
- Demonstrate ability to prioritize and manage several projects, initiatives, and service requests
