Position Overview
As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, your primary responsibility is to design, build, and maintain the core technology infrastructure that supports an organization's IT systems and applications. This can include everything from servers, storage devices, and networking equipment to virtualization software and cloud platforms. Overall, as an Infrastructure Engineer, your goal is to ensure that the organization's technology infrastructure is reliable, secure, and scalable, supporting the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installing and maintaining operating environments.
- Maintain IT infrastructure, on Prem and cloud.
- Apply best practices and follow the necessary security regulations.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving: When issues do occur, you'll be responsible for diagnosing the problem, identifying the root cause, and developing and implementing effective solutions.
- Administration of Atlassian products, primarily Jira and Confluence, including the maintenance of workflows, automation rules, and the management of support requests and tickets.
- Providing training and 1st/2nd line of support to end users.
- Updating any software and hardware where necessary.
- Documentation: You'll be responsible for documenting all infrastructure solutions and processes, ensuring that they are clearly defined and easily understood by others
- Automation and scripting: To streamline infrastructure management, you may need to develop and maintain automation scripts and tools, such as scripts for automating server deployment or monitoring system performance.
- Collaboration and communication: You'll work closely with other IT professionals, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure that infrastructure solutions are aligned with business needs, and that all parties are informed of any changes or updates.
- Occasionally On-Call rotation on Public Holidays that may be extended.
- Other tasks assigned by your Manager.
Skillset and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.
- Ideally holds professional certifications, such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft Azure Administrator or similar.
- Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must have a strong technical background in various areas, including networking, virtualization, storage, and server management.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the same field.
- Familiar with Atlassian products such as Jira and Confluence
- Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure Environment
- Good knowledge of Linux Environments
Skills Required
