Position Overview
The Infrastructure & Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, resilient IT, OT, and ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems within the plant. This includes managing Layer 2/3 network operations, firewall administration, system monitoring, and ensuring reliable connectivity across IT/OT environments. The role also oversees ELV systems such as CCTV, access control, and structured cabling to ensure compliance and operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Network Infrastructure
- Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot Layer 2/3 switches.
- Administer firewalls, including security policies, NAT, VPN, and traffic inspection.
- Design and manage network segmentation (VLANs, ACLs, routing, isolation).
- Ensure network resilience through redundancy and failover strategies.
- Optimize network performance and plan for capacity.
- Support wired and wireless infrastructure, including enterprise Wi-Fi and authentication.
2. OT Network
- Maintain secure connectivity for PLCs, SCADA, historians, and production servers.
- Collaborate with OT teams and vendors to secure IT/OT data flows.
- Monitor OT network performance and support incident response.
- Implement secure remote access for contractors and vendors.
3. ELV Systems
- Manage ELV systems (CCTV, access control, PA/intercom) and ensure IP integration.
- Apply cybersecurity controls and coordinate with vendors for compliance.
- Oversee maintenance, upgrades, and documentation of ELV systems.
4. Monitoring & Visibility
- Administer monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds) for performance and alerts.
- Develop dashboards and thresholds for early issue detection.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for outages and connectivity issues.
5. Identity & Access Management
- Manage Microsoft Entra ID for identity lifecycle, conditional access, and governance.
- Enforce RBAC, MFA, and secure access policies.
6. Server & Virtualization
- Administer virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V), including provisioning, patching, and backups.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware and storage health.
7. Cloud Security
- Enforce cloud security policies and troubleshoot hybrid connectivity issues.
8. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate network and system documentation.
- Ensure compliance with HSSE, ISO standards, and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Support audits and assessments.
Job Requirements
- Expertise in network design, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with switches, firewalls, and ELV systems.
- Knowledge of IT/OT architecture, industrial protocols, and security principles.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools, Microsoft Entra ID, and virtualization platforms.
- Understanding of VLANs, STP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, and QoS.
- Degree in IT, Networking, or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure/networking (industrial environment preferred).
- Exposure to ELV projects; certifications (e.g., CCNP) are an advantage.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability.
- Effective communication and coordination with cross-functional teams.
- High responsibility and safety awareness in operational environments.
