Join us for this Maine-based/local driving distance 12-week internship with the IT Help Desk group and be a part of the Enterprise Global Help Desk IT Team gaining real world troubleshooting experience for our 11,000 employee company, IDEXX.
In this internship role you would…
- Provide tier-1 IT support for IDEXX employees located in our Westbrook, Maine campus and around the world. Supporting a global enterprise organization of over 11,000 employees
- This includes walk-up appointments, new hardware set-up and provisioning, and assisting with day-to-day IT issues
- You will work closely with the IT Help Desk and end-user support teams
- Work on-site in our Westbrook, ME offices
- Help support projects, including deploying high-end workstations to support animal diagnostics in our reference labs
Day-to-day asks are likely to include:
- New hardware provisioning, including: laptops, desktops, and mobile devices
- Walk-up support for hardware, software, and access issues
- Documenting your work in our ticketing system, leveraging other IT support teams to deliver a resolution
Ideal skills for this role include:
- Customer Service, teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills
- Knowledge of Windows, iOS, and Mac OS operating systems
- Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 Platform (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, etc.)
- Familiarity with Active Directory or other user and computer management systems
Requirements for the role include:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program majoring in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related degrees.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and must have completed at least one year of college.
- A track record of student success and potential as demonstrated by GPA, research portfolio, prior work experiences and/or the recommendation of a professor preferred.
Experience with the following would be a strong plus:
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+
- Active Directory knowledge/familiarity
- Microsoft 365 apps including Azure
- Mac/Mobile support
