Job Description Summary

OneSource Virtual is seeking an IT Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, and operation of our advanced network infrastructure in a hybrid-cloud environment. This role will execute network segmentation initiatives, assist with cloud networking (AWS VPC), and support FortiGate and traditional networking (Cisco,routing/switching). The ideal candidate will contribute to network operations, support resilience initiatives, work efficiently with common tasks, and demonstrate the ability to offer solutions and make decisions independently while growing their technical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support network segmentation implementation across hybrid-cloud infrastructure with accurate time estimates and quality delivery
• Assist in AWS VPC environment management, BGP configurations, and IPSec tunnels
• Support network operations including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response, proactively communicating when tasks may be delayed
• Implement and maintain Fortinet and Cisco network infrastructure under guidance
• Configure and manage routing, switching, and wireless infrastructure
• Develop network automation scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks, working effectively as part of the team
• Participate in 24/7 network support through proactive monitoring and on-call rotation
• Support security team on firewall policies and network security initiatives
• Create and maintain network documentation and diagrams following established work standards
• Assist with VMware network virtualization and hybrid cloud integration
• Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating understanding of business and client needs

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of network engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or 6+ years without a degree)
• Ability to work thoroughly and complete tasks on time with quality results
• Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts and proactively seek help when needed
• Confidence in offering solutions and making decisions without constant leadership involvement
• Strong skills in:
  • Network segmentation, micro-segmentation fundamentals- BGP, IPSec VPNs, and AWS VPC/transit gateway
  • Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and Cisco routing/switching
  • Network monitoring, troubleshooting, and problem analysis
  • VMware and software-defined networking concepts
  • Network automation (Python, Ansible) and infrastructure as code
  • Basic understanding of high-availability design and redundancy
  • Network documentation and Visio diagrams
