Role Description
The IT Engineer is responsible for the stable, reliable, and secure operation of the organization's mixed-platform IT infrastructure. This role involves maintaining and troubleshooting server, network, and cloud resources, performing routine tasks, and providing escalation support.
Specific Role Responsibilities
System Operations (OS & Server):
Install, configure, and maintain Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server operating systems and associated services
Monitor system performance and resource utilization, ensuring high availability and optimal operating efficiency
Perform routine system updates, patches, and security configurations
Virtualization & Cloud:
Manage and maintain virtual environments using platforms like VMware vSphere
Assist in the administration of cloud services, including managing virtual machines and basic networking within Microsoft Azure
Networking & Security:
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with security policies
Backup & Recovery:
Perform and monitor daily backup operations and ensure data recoverability
Maintain disaster recovery procedures and documentation
Automation & Scripting:
Utilize PowerShell and Bash for routine task automation and reporting
Support & Documentation:
Provide 1st/2nd level technical support
Create and maintain accurate documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides
Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent
Work experience - at least 2 years of professional experience in system administration or a similar IT role
Good knowledge in:
Windows Server
Linux
Networking (Fortinet is welcome)
VMware
Azure
Backups (Veeam is welcome)
Scripting
Good communication and presentation.
Fluency in English is mandatory
