Job Description

About the role

The IT Director Regional Infrastructure Center of Excellence (CoE) provides strategic leadership for the delivery and continuous improvement of regional infrastructure services and capabilities such as Network, Data Center Hosting, Directory Services, and site infrastructure.

This role is accountable for ensuring world-class IT service experience for all business units, operational excellence and service reliability across regional IT infrastructure, with a focus on supporting business growth, transformation, and harmonization initiatives. The Director will lead the Regional Infrastructure CoE team, championing standardization, local delivery excellence, and integration with global IT strategies.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Lead the Regional Infrastructure CoE, responsible for delivering and optimizing IT infrastructure services in the EMEA / AME region. 
  • Drive the execution of regional delivery initiatives in alignment with global infrastructure strategy and local business requirements. 
  • Oversee the implementation and operation of core infrastructure, including LAN, Wifi, VPN, (SD)WAN, local datacenter services, backup & storage, patching, and server management. 
  • Develop and monitor service level agreements (SLAs), operational metrics, and KPIs to ensure performance targets are met. 
  • Enable regional support for projects such as datacenter migrations, infrastructure cost tracking, network services, and regional-specific M&A integrations. 
  • Champion continuous improvement and harmonization of infrastructure within the region, leveraging global standards while adapting to regional needs. 
  • Partner with regional IT leaders, IT architects, and external vendors to deliver robust, scalable, and secure regional infrastructure solutions. 
  • Foster adoption of new technologies, drive transformation initiatives, and cultivate a high-performing, collaborative team culture. 
  • Manage regional budgets, resource allocations, and vendor relationships, ensuring value and cost-effectiveness. 
  • Team size typically ranges from 30 to 50+, including contractor management. 
  • Accountable for regional service SLAs, project delivery, and stakeholder engagement with regional business and IT leadership (e.g. BU VPs, executives). 
  • Accountable for service delivery, maintenance and support of all infrastructure assets (across 100+ sites, 2000-3000+ servers hosted in Datacenters and at site level, 1000+ network devices, 10000-15000 user accounts in Active Directory) 
  • Responsible for supporting Amcor operations across regional manufacturing plants and service offices (ca. 100+ sites) 
  • Direct financial responsibility for team budget and vendor contracts (ca. 8-10 MUSD). 
  • Leads prioritization of IT Infrastructure initiatives in the region based on organization(s) needs/strategy, IT workload and budget. 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline required; Master’s/MBA is a plus. 
  • 10+ years of experience in IT operations, service management, or infrastructure leadership, with 5+ years in a senior management role. 
  • Demonstrated experience in regional or global infrastructure operations, IT service delivery, and process standardization. 
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure domains: networking (LAN, WAN, Wifi, VPN), datacenter services, backup & storage, patching, and server management. 
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills with a focus on data-driven decision making. 
  • Proven track record to successfully build, lead, and inspire high-performing, geographically dispersed teams. 
  • Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and complex project portfolios. 
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. 
  • ITIL Foundation certification and experience with ITIL-based processes are considered a plus. 
  • Fluency in English required; additional regional languages a plus.
