UCT is looking for a talented Director, IT Apps to join us in Israel!

Job Summary:
The IT Director – Business Applications is responsible for the strategic leadership, governance, and evolution of the company’s business application landscape. The role acts as the primary IT interface to executive business leadership and ensures alignment between business strategy and application delivery.
The position requires extensive experience leading SAP application teams and shaping enterprise SAP solutions. The IT Director provides strategic direction for SAP solution design, ensures adherence to standards and best practices, and supports large-scale business and digital transformation initiatives. 


Key Responsibilities
Executive Business Partnership

  • Act as the primary IT partner for executive and senior business leadership.
  • Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Translate business strategy into application and SAP roadmaps.
  • Provide executive-level guidance on SAP-enabled capabilities.

Application Portfolio Ownership

  • Own and govern the enterprise application portfolio with strong focus on SAP.
  • Define target SAP and application architecture in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture.
  • Drive standardization, simplification, and lifecycle management of SAP solutions.

Demand & Priority Management

  • Lead demand intake and prioritization of SAP and application initiatives.
  • Balance strategic transformation initiatives with operational stability.

Delivery & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure successful delivery of SAP programs, enhancements, and rollouts.
  • Oversee application stability, performance, and availability.
  • Govern release, change, and lifecycle management processes.

People & Vendor Leadership

  • Lead and develop SAP application teams and managers.
  • Provide strategic guidance on SAP solution design and architecture.
  • Act as escalation point for complex SAP solution topics.
  • Manage strategic SAP vendors and implementation partners.

Financial & Governance Responsibility

  • Own SAP and application portfolio budgeting and cost transparency.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, security, and regulatory standards.

Required Skills

  • Strong executive and managerial communication skills
  • Proven leadership experience managing SAP teams.
  • Ability to explain complex SAP topics to business stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset with pragmatic execution focus.

Language Skills

  • Fluent English required for managerial leadership and executive-level communication.

Technical & Functional Knowledge
Required:

  • Extensive SAP experience across enterprise environments.
  • 10+ years of SAP solution experience.
  • Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA landscapes and integrations.

 


 

Experience
Required:

  • 10+ years of experience leading SAP application teams.
  • Extensive experience SAP S/4HANA transformation experience.
  • 5+ years in senior IT leadership roles.
  • Proven experience working with executive stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Experience in global enterprise environments.
