[What the role is]

As an IT Data Governance Officer, you will support ITE's data governance, compliance and risk management efforts. Working closely with the Chief Data Officer (CDO), Business Owners and Data Owners, you will help establish and strengthen data governance practices, monitor compliance with Whole-of-Government policies and standards, support value--data risk assessments, and promote responsible data management across the organisation. The role contributes to strengthening data accountability, governance maturity and effective data stewardship within ITE.

[What you will be working on]

Be part of the IT Governance and Security Team to:

  • Support ITE Chief Data Officer in data governance and compliance matters relating to IM8 data domain, WOG policies and standards, including clarification of data classification and data governance issues with GDD/SNDGO where applicable.
  • Support identification, formal assignment and communication of Business Owners and Data Owners for key data domains and systems.
  • Support implementation of value-risk assessment, provide guidance and develop learning materials for CDO Team, Business Owners and Data Owners.
  • Review and validate Line 1 value-risk assessments for data use cases, and support complex assessments requiring Line 2 guidance or escalation.
  • Support the administration of the Data Administration Group, agenda preparation, decision documentation and action tracking.
  • Maintain documentation and tracking of data governance decisions, issues, escalations, action items and compliance evidence for management reporting and audit readiness.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring of data usage risks, compliance metrics and key risk indicators, including periodic updates to CDO/CIO/management where required.
  • Disseminate data governance updates and educate relevant staff on data-related policies, including support for monthly staff induction on data management.
  • Lead or coordinate annual review of Data Security Risk Assessment for ITE systems that are critical and/or subject to IM8 audit, and track related follow-up actions.
  • Support data-domain aspects of IM8 audit, internal audit and WOG data governance reviews, including evidence preparation, coordination with stakeholders and follow-up on audit findings.
  • Support periodic review and update of data governance policies, practices, templates and guidance based on emerging risks, regulatory changes, audit findings and lessons learnt.

[What we are looking for]

- Possess suitable academic or professional credentials in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields.

- Possess relevant Data Management and Audit certifications (eg CDMP, DCAM, CISA equivalent certifications) would be an advantage.

- Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in governance, risk, compliance, audit, data management, cybersecurity, or related functions.

- Knowledge of data classification, data protection, information security, or data lifecycle management concepts

- Familiarity with IM8, Whole-of-Government (WOG) policies, data governance frameworks, and risk management practices.

- Possess leadership qualities as well as good people and collaboration skills. - Good presentation, verbal and written communications skills.

- Diligent, resourceful, and able to multitask in a dynamic work environment

- Meticulous in planning and tracking

- Familiarity with tendering procedures, ICT Security Standards in Singapore Public Service and managing IT budgets would be an advantage.

Skills Required
