SUMMARY:
The IT Cost Analyst supports Motion’s IT leadership by contributing to world class expense analyses and providing thought-provoking, value-adding insight into business performance. The IT Cost Analyst assists with the identification of operational improvement opportunities and drives decision-making by collecting, managing, analyzing, and disseminating cost information and analyses.
JOB DUTIES
- Designs and implements cost models and key performance indicator (KPI) reports to drive value in the IT organization.
- Analyzes profit & loss statements, explaining variances in performance and monitoring actions to ensure delivery of financial commitments for each IT department.
- Prepares and participates in cost and operational discussions with IT leaders.
- Partners with various IT department leaders to drive additional cost controls through analysis and reporting.
- Acts as a liaison with Motion Finance to help inform IT spend forecast and long-term outlook.
- Coordinates with Motion Finance to identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards.
- Increases productivity by developing automated reporting and modeling tools.
- Assists in the creation of IT executive presentations.
- Leads and participates in ad-hoc projects assigned by IT leaders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics from an accredited institution and two (2) to five (5) years of related experience in Finance, Accounting or Business Analysis/Planning. Typically requires experience with data modeling, analysis, and data visualization/business intelligence tools.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Advanced experience in PowerPoint and Excel to include pivot tables and complex formulas.
- Must possess proven ability at problem-solving.
- Must possess the ability to identify and communicate solutions to complex business opportunities in a time-critical environment.
- Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
