IT Change Lead

  

Job Description

   

The IT Change Lead plays a pivotal role in supporting the IT Strategy Team's objectives by planning, coordinating, and executing enterprise-wide change management initiatives. This role focuses on activating our business teams to exploit Information Technology, strengthening business IT capability, and ensuring smooth change and transition. The IT Change Lead will support all members of the IT Strategy Team, including the IT Strategy Director, IT Transformation Leads, Enterprise Solutions Architects, and our IT Communications Specialist, all of whom you will work with to develop and implement strategic plans.

The scope of IT change at SUSE is broad, encompassing everything from enterprise-wide technology changes and designing future IT states, to training and enablement for improving business capabilities and leveraging IT.

A crucial aspect of the Strategy Team is to empower SUSE's business groups to fully leverage the capabilities of our IT estate. This involves developing and deploying effective adoption programs that enhance user proficiency, drive adoption of new technologies, and maximize the return on our IT investments. By equipping our teams with the knowledge and skills they need, the IT Change Lead ensures that SUSE can fully capitalize on its IT infrastructure and achieve its strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Provide support to the  IT Transformation Leads to plan and activate strategic change and transformation.

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the IT Portfolio and roadmaps to provide crucial context for IT changes and strategic planning.

  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of IT changes, using data-driven insights to refine strategies and optimize outcomes, in collaboration with the team. 

  • Collaborate with the Strategy Director to establish and enhance robust IT governance and reporting frameworks for key leadership forums. This will involve curating information on status and progress of important IT changes, or matters of IT resilience and compliance.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Work with the IT Strategy Team to maintain a cadence of strong relationships with key stakeholders across SUSE, at all management levels

  • Create clear, consistent, and compelling communication of IT change initiatives to different stakeholders, working closely with the IT Communications Specialist.

  • Maintain regular and insightful progress reports on strategic IT initiatives, ensuring the IT Strategy Team and stakeholders are well-informed and aligned. 

  • Cultivate collaboration within the IT Team, ensuring efficient and collegiate change executions. 

Change Management and Adoption

  • Run projects and initiatives to empower SUSE business teams to fully leverage key IT facilities, especially in cutting-edge areas like AI, machine learning, and other intelligent tooling.

  • Design, commission and/or deliver engaging and impactful programs that equip SUSE employees with the confidence and skills to thrive with new IT systems, tools, and processes. 

  • Proactively identify and overcome barriers to IT adoption, promoting a positive and inclusive culture through strategic communications, training, and support.

Experience & qualifications:

  • Previous experience delivering business change or transformations

  • Previous experience in start ups would be of interest

  • Experience in managing projects and ensuring on-time delivery

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels

  • Experience in organising or commissioning knowledge sharing and demonstrations 

  • Experience in evaluating the effectiveness of changes and making data-driven recommendations for improvement

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree

  • Certifications in project or change management would be helpful
