Job Description:
We invite applications for the permanent IT Business Intelligence Analyst position, based in the UK, preferably Aberdeen, Scotland.
Reporting to the IT Manager, Business Intelligence & Analytics, you will develop and support data solutions that enable informed decision-making across the business.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of our data and analytics capabilities while working with colleagues across multiple functions and locations. Key Responsibilities
As an IT Business Intelligence Analyst, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain BI solutions including dashboards, reports, semantic models, and analytics tools.
- Gather and translate business requirements into scalable, data-driven solutions.
- Build and manage data pipelines, models, and governed datasets to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.
- Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting standards aligned to business objectives.
- Drive automation and process improvement initiatives through data and analytics.
- Implement and maintain data governance practices, including security, access controls, and documentation.
- Monitor, support, and continuously improve BI solutions, resolving issues and incorporating user feedback.
- Ensure data quality through validation, reconciliation, and clear data definitions.
- Stay current with emerging BI technologies and identify opportunities to enhance analytics capabilities.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to support data integration, platform reliability, and user adoption.
Person Specification: (minimum education requirements, key skills, and experience)
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience delivering BI solutions using Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, DAX, and Power Query (M).
- Experience gathering requirements and working closely with business stakeholders.
- Ability to analyse business processes and translate them into effective data solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working across multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of data governance, security, and access management principles.
- Familiarity with Agile or similar delivery methodologies.
- Willingness to travel internationally when required.
