Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa Subsidiary, is looking for an IT Business Analyst for our Memphis Corporate Office.  The IT Business Analyst will have primary responsibilities for custom software applications, most of which are design and engineering applications. The IT Business Analyst will lead cross-functional projects with complex and challenging business problems. Key undertakings will include design/redesign, development, and implementation of applications and other major business applications within the Business Unit. This role reports directly to the Director of Information Technology and can have a broad impact by leading process and application improvements that provide the business opportunities for competitive advantage, efficiency, and system alternatives that translate to cost and bottom-line savings.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Identify and document current and future business processes, looking for gaps
  • Carry out application training sessions and workshops for end users/stakeholders
  • Identify and document issues, collaborating with internal and corporate project team for resolution
  • Keep ahead of and apply best practices in process design and system usage
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communication with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT project activities
  • Perform feasibility analysis considering technical, infrastructural, organizational, and economic aspects to alternative solutions
  • Analyze and translate user requirements into functional requirements, technical design, and development projects
  • Coordinate the application of all pertinent application upgrades with our core engineering applications and other major business applications with the infrastructure team, the stakeholders, and business systems providers
  • Analyze and support application licensing requirements and maintenance renewals
  • Continuously monitor and research industry trends, standards, and technologies; recommending as they emerge
  • Re-engineer business processes through analysis of alternative process designs and implementation to achieve speed, simplicity, accuracy, and competitive advantage
  • Identify potential project issues and perform project management including task identification, effort and duration estimates, task dependencies and sequencing, critical path analysis, resource assignment and evaluation, as well as conflict and problem resolution
  • Lead activities by coordinating systems integration and end user testing including planning, building, scheduling, facilitating execution, issues resolution, controlling scope and adjusting to unforeseen issues
  • Analysis of ERPs such as (IFS and/or JEE)
  • Other duties assigned by the Director of IT 

What You’ll Need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ related experience required
  • Experience with Agile software development required
  • Certified Scrum Master or plans to obtain required
  • Experience with MS Azure DevOps required
  • Experience in engineering and manufacturing systems required  
  • Must have experience with engineering platforms, ERP/ MRP, inventory management, and advanced planning software programs
  • Business Process design experience
  • Must have experience developing application technology roadmaps 
  • General knowledge of PLS, .NET, Angular, SQL and C
  • Familiarity with Linux OS, Windows OS, SQL DB, Web Applications is plus
  • Advanced project management skills; ability to quantify project resource requirements
  • Demonstrated cross functional teamwork and collaboration
  • Demonstrated business relationship management experience
  • Effective written communication and presentation skills; ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Ability to measure and communicate proposed project benefits; experience building and presenting business cases
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite products
  • The ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, practices, and procedures
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Keen attention to detail
