A day in the life of an IT Business Analyst (previously Feature Engineer) within Financial Messaging
Do you want to contribute to a reliable and secure messaging solution for all ING entities and enable uniform processing of financial messages then our is the team you should join! We work with different applications of the ING Group providing connection among all ING entities, business lines and the external financial world.
- Translate business requirements into features and stories by using IT & Business knowledge for different applications in the domain,
- Ensure features delivery (Planning, coordination, dependencies management),
- Delivering business and technical analysis and implementations for applications such as SWIFT Swift Alliance, SWIFT Alliance Access, SWIFT HSMs, SWIFT AMH product etc.
- Maintain and implement documentation standard for these analysis and implementation works and providing third line support related to the implemented solution as IT Business Analyst,
- Keep business and IT knowledge up to date, and keep track of relevant trends and outlooks and share SWIFT knowledge within the domain and collaborate successfully with colleagues within the domain and on global level as part of the activities above.

- You can identify dependencies across tribes in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to assess the impact of changes for applications which are at the very heart of the bank,
- You translate new product / service needs into IT solutions and recognize business opportunities coming from new technology solutions,
- You have more than 10 years of proven experience with SWIFT applications including functional knowledge and expertise in SWIFT Swift Alliance, SWIFT Alliance Access, SWIFT HSMs, SWIFT AMH product etc.
- You are familiar with the details of different market infrastructures (e.g. CHAPS, Target2, etc.
- You develop a good understanding of the business domain and processes as well as the underlying architectural model,
- You think and act in both a local and global application context,
- You can understand the “Why” and translate the “What” into the “How”.
The team
You will be part of the ING Payment and Settlement Services area where our team covers, among others, the feature engineer activities of the ING Global Competence Centre for Financial Messaging delivering IT solutions globally and migrating our platform to the newest technologies. In specific, you will work as an IT Business Analyst in the Financial Messaging area, performing a key role in the transformation of the business requirements into detailed deliverables and managing the end-to-end execution. The IT team is located in Brussels, the business and IT stakeholders can be located globally across ING.
