About the role

We’re looking for an IT Business Analyst II to join our growing team!
As a business analyst, you play a vital role of translator and facilitator between Business, IT and Quality Assurance. You will be part of a small squad with the sole purpose of creating and enhancing the functionalities of our in-house policy system to the point where that product is the best product, not just in the insurance field, but the best product out there, period.
What you'll do here:

  • Analyze business needs to define IT solutions.

  • Lead / prepare / participate in business requirements workshops to specify IT solutions.

  • Make impact analysis and effort estimates to advocate, get approval, then document the IT solution using effective methods and interacting with both business users and the IT project team.

  • Support the development of solutions and monitor the velocity of the team.

  • Support test Quality Assurance activities and User Acceptance Tests.

  • Support Product Owners in handling their backlogs and prioritize work to be done.

  • Document User Stories effectively so they can be clearly understood by Front End, Back End developers and Quality Assurance.

  • Identify and convey the impacts on Business processes to support change management in Business units via train the trainer documents and procedures

  • Build a solid, reusable and thorough system documentation to be used by any stakeholders.


What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or any combination of equivalent education and experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as IT Business Analyst

  • Project experiences in Scrum mode

  • Experience and knowledge in the insurance field

  • Experience and knowledge of applications in a web

  • Mastery of JIRA, Confluence & DNGy

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country
