Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced IT Asset & Configuration Manager to join our Global IT Service Management team in Chicago. In this role, you will help maintain and continuously improve our Asset and Configuration Management processes and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) while partnering with global colleagues across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of IT asset and configuration data, supporting operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and service reliability across the organization. The successful candidate will also provide backup support for Change Management activities and contribute to major incident management processes.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative, international environment where technology serves as a critical enabler of our global clearing and risk management business.
This position is based in our Chicago office and requires a min of 3 days per week onsite in office.
Job Responsibilities:
Asset & Configuration Management
- Maintain and enhance the Asset and Configuration Management process and CMDB.
- Ensure configuration and asset data remains accurate, complete, and reliable.
- Support adoption of best practices, governance standards, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Partner with technology teams and stakeholders to improve data quality and service visibility.
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of ServiceNow Asset and Configuration Management capabilities.
Major Incident & Problem Management
- Coordinate the restoration of service during major IT incidents.
- Serve as the primary on-call resource for major incidents on a 24x7 basis.
- Facilitate stakeholder communications during critical incidents.
- Lead post-incident reviews and drive follow-up problem management actions.
- Support a global "follow-the-sun" incident management model across regions.
Change Management Support
- Act as backup Change Manager when required.
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on change management processes.
- Support users and stakeholders in the execution of change management activities.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Monitor industry regulations, internal policies, and emerging best practices.
- Ensure Asset, Configuration, and Incident Management processes operate in compliance with established standards and controls.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen governance and operational effectiveness.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and management reporting.
- Analyze performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in IT Asset & Configuration Management.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Asset Management processes and tooling.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow, including Asset Management and CMDB functionality.
- Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) practices.
- ITIL certification or equivalent ITSM framework knowledge.
- Experience working with Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within financial services, capital markets, or regulated environments.
- Knowledge of NIST frameworks and controls.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Familiarity with global technology operations and support models.
Below is the expected base salary for this position. Offers will ultimately be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and performance in the interview process. This position will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
Annual base salary, not including discretionary bonus eligibility: $86,000+
