Global Applications
The IT Application Owner is part of the Global Applications organization, responsible for the full lifecycle, support, and continuous improvement of assigned applications. Our applications are deployed across our global factory network to enable and optimize shopfloor and manufacturing operations.
Locations for remote work: Hungary, Croatia, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Slovenia
The position is intentionally designed to be process and application agnostic, enabling flexible assignments of global applications & processes based on business needs. As the primary IT owner, you act as the central interface between business users, business product owners, external vendors, and internal IT functions. You ensure alignment between business processes and IT solutions, while maintaining operational stability, regulatory compliance, and a focus on continuous improvement.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesApplication & Process Ownership- Own assigned applications and associated IT processes across their lifecycle (operate, maintain, and enhance).
- Serve as the primary IT point of contact between business users, business product owners, manufacturing sites, and IT functions for assigned systems & processes.
- Ensure applications meet operational, compliance, and performance expectations in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Support the evolution of applications as business processes, regulatory requirements, and factory needs change.
- Manages the business and operations intake process for global applications, translating demand into enhancement and transformation initiatives while supporting IT planning and delivery execution.
- Oversee and coordinate ticket activities (e.g. Demand, incident, service request, and problem management) using ServiceNow.
- Participate as an escalation point in 24/7 on-call support or follow-the-sun support models, as required.
- Handle or coordinate high-complexity support issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal technical teams to resolve escalations and recurring issues.
- Support application configuration, interfaces, and integrations with other factory systems, data platforms, and enterprise applications.
- Coordinate changes, releases, and deployments in alignment with applicable Jabil policies & processes.
- Collaborate with technical leads and vendors on upgrades, patches, and functional enhancements.
- Create, maintain, and ensure accuracy of required IT and Computer Software Assurance (CSA) documentation, including:
- Architecture Diagrams
- Design Specifications
- Maintenance and Support Plans
- Installation Qualification (IQ) documentation
- Functional and risk-based test scripts
- Execute and support IT test activities, including functional, regression, and integration testing.
- Ensure audit readiness and actively support internal and external audits in regulated environments.
- Contribute to the definition, tracking, and reporting of KPIs related to system usage, availability, performance, incident trends, and service quality.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and improved operational efficiency.
- Contribute to initiatives related to Agile delivery, Azure DevOps, automated testing, and AI-enabled capabilities (e.g., quality analytics, anomaly detection, intelligent support).
- Foundational understanding of manufacturing IT systems
- Familiarity with regulated environments (medical devices, pharmaceuticals, healthcare manufacturing) is a plus.
- Working knowledge of ITIL-based service management concepts and ticket-driven support models.
- Basic understanding of system integrations, data flows, and enterprise application landscapes.
- Exposure to or strong interest in Agile methodologies, DevOps, and automated testing practices.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across business, IT functions, and external vendor teams.
- Ability to operate in a global, matrixed organization with evolving priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant IT experience, preferably in application support, manufacturing IT, or quality systems.
- Experience with manufacturing execution environments is a strong advantage.
- ITIL Foundation or similar certification is a plus.
- Standard business hours with flexibility to support global manufacturing operations.
- Participation in on-call or after-hours support, as required.
- Occasional domestic and/or international travel may be required.
- Office-based or hybrid working environment, depending on location and business needs.
