Job Summary
Assist in the logistical responsibilities of the IPS product line. IPS is a demanding product line which often requires travel be taken on minimal notice. This individual will be responsible for frequent travel needed to support surgical cases. Assist with strategic projects and discussions with customers, the sales team, in-house departments, and partner companies to drive revenue. Spend time in the market to truly understand your customers, how they interact with our products, what they value, what challenges they face, and how we can create innovative solutions for the broader market. Develop business and technical knowledge and demonstrate a high degree of work ethic in the accomplishment of assigned goals. Assist in the management of the IPS product line. Increase the profitability of IPS products through excellent customer knowledge, rep/surgeon support, and assisting the creation of business plans, marketing material, and education.
Essential Functions, Duties, and responsibilities
Potential for 35% or more travel • Work closely with the IPS Product Managers and Specialists to support daily activities and identifying when travel support is needed
• Work with external vendors as needed
• Assist the Product Specialist team with cross-references
• Participate in trade shows as assigned representing KLS Martin with a high-degree of professionalism and product knowledge
• Learn customer needs, what they value, and how they perceive products so you can market strategically and represent the customer in new product development initiatives
• Apply your clinical and technical knowledge to explain key product differences & innovations through education and marketing material
• In-service, maintain, sell, and present on all IPS products and associated software
• Use professional verbal and written communication skills to build relationships and explain technical product information to customers, salespeople, and employees
• Educate employees in the assembly, use, and maintenance of assigned product(s)
• Stay current on and cross reference competitive product offering and pricing
• Stay current on the standard of care and new technologies in the market in which the assigned products are applied
• Work with the shipping team to resolve urgent matters related to FedEx and UPS shipping delays
• Assist with Product Modification Requests (PMR) or Product Variation Requests (PVR)
• Package & Ship products to the office or other field locations
Retrieve and Interpret Documents, Know the Quality Policy & Safety Program, Report Product Complaints and Adverse Events, Understand and Follow Off-Indication regulations
• Understand KLS Martin Non-Disclosure Agreements and when to execute them • Understand government regulations and company policy on customer expense related activities
• Submit expenses for reimbursement pursuant to the company travel policy • Complete Hospital Credentialing where necessary to perform essential duties • Performs other related duties as assigned
• Organize trips to field locations as a product expert to perform job duties and responsibilities at trade shows, customer on-site locations, sales meetings, workshops, cadaver labs, and in surgery
• Learn customer needs, what they value, and how they perceive products so you can market strategically and represent the customer in new product development initiatives • Help create customer centered marketing strategies for your products
• Help develop strategic marketing documents
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements
• 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Previous experience or demonstrated ability to learn, Salesforce.com, SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Wrike, Concur, Paycom, iOS iPad & iPhone
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within the organization • Plan and organize internal cross-department meetings to accomplish goals • Follow through on issues, make informed decisions that comply with policies and procedures, complete tasks and problem-solve • Work with minimal supervision and accomplish high level goals with minimal explicit instructions
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Salesforce.com
- Experience with SAP
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Experience with Wrike, Concur, and Paycom
- Familiarity with iOS on iPad and iPhone
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently (potential for 35%+)
- Ability to complete hospital credentialing where necessary
- Strong verbal and written communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, plan and organize, and problem-solve
