The associate will work on the following types of matters:
· Litigation matters involving artificial intelligence technology, including copyright, product liability theories, and U.S. as well as international data collection issues;
· Internet law class actions related to consumer protection laws and statutes;
· Intellectual property matters including trade secret, copyright, trademark, and patent, as well as enforcement related to online platform abuse;
· Complex commercial litigation matters involving cryptocurrency/blockchain, startups, venture capital funds and other technology companies and organizations, including founder disputes, token disputes, and investigations and enforcement actions from the SEC, CFTC, DOJ, as well as state agencies and attorneys general;
· Privacy and data security matters, including incident response, commercial litigation arising out of incidents, and data breach class actions under statutes such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA), Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), as well as cases involving the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA); and
· Speech-related technology litigation matters, including cases involving Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act and defamation.
Job Requirements:
Candidates should have between two and six years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have experience in a mid to large law firm, along with experience drafting pleadings and briefs, conducting research, and managing discovery. Candidates should have some experience and interest in the areas of technology, Internet law, defamation, crypto, privacy, artificial intelligence, intellectual property, and complex commercial litigation. Experience in-house managing litigation for a technology company is a plus.
Qualified candidates will have solid academic performance in law school, strong interpersonal, writing and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the desire and initiative to "take ownership" over work and career. Candidates must be in good standing with the CA Bar.

The expected pay range for this position is:
$235,000.00 - $390,000.00 per year
Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401K, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program.
