Join Fish’s Minneapolis team in our fast-paced Practice Systems Department as an IP Operations Assistant.
How Will You Make a Difference?
- Perform a wide range of administrative and procedural duties relating to system maintenance, matter opening, transfers, document processing, process review, client special procedures, audits, reports, forms, etc.
- Process requests for data and record updates in IP system
- Assist with matter opening process
- Maintain and manage a project log. Document all new and/or revised procedures.
- Support the transfers process within Practice Systems and carry out the day-to-day operations in support of that team.
- Support the solutions to general operations issues by collaborating with managers and supervisors within practice systems and externally as needed. Participate in regular meetings with managers in the group.
- Billable projects as requested.
What Will You Bring to the Table?
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum 1 year professional office experience (IP law office experience preferred; not required)
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time restraints. May adapt procedures, processes and techniques, within established guidelines, to meet requirements of the position, task or project.
- Ability to use essential office equipment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Ability to learn other computer applications with training provided necessary to the completion of tasks.
- Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment and contribute to effective team relationships.
- Ability to identify issues and refer them to management, often with proposed solutions.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with a diverse group of attorneys, clients and staff, providing information with courtesy and professionalism, at all times observing confidentiality requirements.
- Maintain attention to detail and the ability to occasionally work without supervision, sometimes requiring exercise of independent judgment. Able to resolve routine questions and problems, referring complex issues to higher levels.
- Ability to work 2 days per month in the Minneapolis office.

- In Minneapolis, the estimated starting pay is $23.08 - $28.72 per hour, which is equivalent to $45,000 - $56,000 annually (based on a 37.5-hour workweek). Final compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including education, experience, skills, professional background, and overall qualifications.
