Delos is looking for a talented and experienced Firmware Engineer to join our team developing next generation IoT solutions for healthier buildings. - Develop & sustain application firmware for a line of microcontroller-based IoT devices with multiple built-in environmental sensors
- Implement device-level algorithms for using sensor data for automated behaviors
- Collaborate in architecting and implementing device-to-device wireless connectivity
- Collaborate to implement cloud-to-device IoT software architecture
- Hands-on bench test and debug using meters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other electronics test equipment
- Work closely with hardware engineering in developing and defining the specifications for future products, including recommendations on emerging technologies and design best practices
- Close cooperation with project managers to deliver products within scope, budget, and quality requirements
- Conduct and participate in hardware, firmware, and software reviews
- Document design to facilitate interaction with other developers, manufacturing partners, and quality
- Provide ongoing sustaining support with firmware updates and testing
- Collaborate in standardizing the communication protocols, technologies, programming languages, and development platforms are used across Delos devices
- Minimum education of BSCS, BSEE, BSCE or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years relevant work experience in software on embedded platforms
- Proficient at coding in C, C++, or similar languages
- Experience working with Thread, Zigbee or equivalent wireless IoT technologies
- Self-starter who is willing to take on a variety of tasks, who can adapt and learn new skills quickly in a dynamic work environment
- Proficient at design, development, analysis, verification, and troubleshooting
- Very familiar with microcontrollers, and the low-level firmware that interacts directly with hardware
- Understanding of electrical schematics
- Familiarity with LwM2M and MQTT protocols is preferred
- Solid board bring-up, testing, and debug skills
- Familiar with standard programmers and debug tools
- Collaborative approach to product development, able to work well with cross-functional hardware and software teams
