Aligned with the GREEN'26 Cement strategy, FLSmidth is set to have a dedicated Cement business entity, equipped to inject green-tech initiatives into the dynamic global cement market. This Cement business will feature its own dedicated Cement IT function, which is currently in the process of being developed.

We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect specialized in IoT cloud, edge and analytical platforms technologies and to support our business with predictive failures and optimizing the performance of our customer assets. This role will play a critical part in our digital transformation journey, ensuring that our install base is connected to FLSmidth ecosystem to provide lifecycle solutions and services to our customers.

About the job

The IoT Architect is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive solutions within the connect service offerings to our customers. This role involves collaborating with our product, service and IT functions to understand business requirements, developing architecture strategies, and ensuring the successful deployment of IoT platform and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible to conceptualize and design roadmaps and blueprints of complete stack of IoT solutions (on MS Azure IoT Platform) which is scalable, high performing and flexible for customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
• You’ll work very closely with our Business in Understanding the Product Roadmap of the different streams and come up with solutions for the same.
• You’ll also work very closely with the developers of the individual streams – IoT Platform, Asset Insights and Asset Health in the design and make sure they conform to the overall architecture.
• Demonstrating technical leadership in designing and developing cutting-edge solutions in the space of industrial IoT (asset performance, asset health) based on our customer requirements will be a key success driver.
• You will actively engage in internal and customer discussions to understand needs and challenges in developing and deploying IoT applications.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in IoT, digital industrial 4.0 technologies.

Your Qualifications:

• You are an experienced Solution Architect with proven track record of defining and implementing new technologies
• You will have the ability and experience to innovate and learn new technologies and platforms quickly. Strong communication skills and ability to work with global cross-cultural teams.
• You should have the ability to conduct workshops, engage the internal \ external stakeholders with high levels of interpersonal and communication skills and successfully handle multiple work streams across multiple projects, meeting tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
• You have good experience and overview of the complete IoT architectural stack from sensors to data ingestion, big data analytics, API Gateways etc.
• You have proven experience in architecting and implementing end-to-end IoT platform and solutions on Microsoft Azure platform. Knowledge in advanced digital and analytic technology in OT environments - manufacturing operations, process and control systems, SCADA will be a strong positive.
• It is crucial that you have a solid knowledge of software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle.
• Ideally you have 10+ years of software design, development and architecture experience, with 6+ years implementing end-to-end cloud/Edge solutions in Azure Cloud.
• You must hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or any technology-related domain. Having Microsoft certified Azure architect and\or TOGAF certification would be added advantage.

The position is based out in Chennai and might involve travel for 10-30 days in a year.
