We are looking for a smart, ambitious, and hardworking Engineering Manager to lead the iOS Engineering Team in Berlin. As a catalyst for complex projects and initiatives, you will work cross-functionally to drive innovative features used by hundreds of thousands of people around the world every day, and keep our app ahead of the competition.

This role will be required to work from our Berlin office at least 3 days per week.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of iOS engineers, providing guidance and constructive feedback.

  • Create an inclusive team culture where innovation and open communication are valued.

  • Define goals and track your team’s progress toward achieving them.

  • Advocate for your team to ensure they have the support and resources they need.

  • Own and shape the team’s technical roadmap together with your team and product partners.

  • Encourage use of tools and processes that improve code quality and scalability.

  • Work closely with product managers and designers to turn user needs into technical solutions.

  • Keep up-to-date with iOS technologies and frameworks and explore new tools that can benefit the team.

  • Organize development tasks and prioritize work to deliver projects on time.

  • Bridge communication between technical and non-technical teams to keep everyone aligned.

  • Participate actively in technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural planning.

Please apply if you have:
  • Experience leading or managing a team of engineers, including task delegation, performance management, and mentoring.

  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills working across teams and perspectives.

  • Good understanding of software development principles and UI design patterns.

  • Fluent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Tech Stack:
  • App written in latest Swift, modularized into frameworks

  • Primarily UIKit & Autolayout - in the process of migrating to SwiftUI

  • Dependencies managed by Carthage

  • Tooling and infrastructure in various programming languages (bash, swift, ruby, python)

  • Unit, Integration, API, E2E and snapshot tests developed using XCTest

  • Open source projects like SwiftFrame, carthage_remote_cache and attributions
